IMO Mark Zuckenberg could use FB to sway a close election or even make his candidates of choice win many elections. The ads and news stories I receive do not seemed biased. Why would he pass up this oppurtunity ?

Mass media able to sway public opinion?! Surely you can't be serious...

Why would he pass up the opportunity?

Maybe he doesn't strongly favour one candidate over the others.
Perhaps he thinks that this kind of behaviour (and being caught) would have a negative effect on the reputation of his company.
Maybe he thinks it's a better strategy to take money from all sides to display their campaign ads (assume this happens, not a FB user and can't be bothered to check)

Mark Zuckerberg is a smart guy and I'm sure he can think of lots of other reasons that it would be a terrible idea that I haven't even considered.

Nobody is looking at Mark Zuckerberg's facebook page. He's too much of a nerd.

Because he is a billionaire and so his side always wins an election.

Its also not particularly good for business to drive away a portion of customers. That's why he puts tonnes of cash into lobbying efforts and pacs to get his candidates elected. That isn't in theory BTW, he actually does it, and even that risked a portion of eyeballs when ppl found out he was backing a republican.
