The libertarian dream of feasting off of the collective until you're wealthy enough to denounce it and try your best to pay as little back into the system as you possibly can.

The elegant solution would be to drone the expats. And their families. And some other innocents.

Are they going to actually take his fortune or just tax him at a rate approved by congress?

Do you believe theres really a visible difference in the former and the latter when you're pulling down that kind of money?

lawl, THEY'RE TAKING HIS FORTUNE!!! How can he be expected to live on the breadcrumbs that are left over?!?!?!?

Which is the part you are confused about?

Everyone rich in America is rich because of the taxes paid to the government who protects them.

Without tax money paying for the courts that protected him he would have ended up with virtually nothing when Zuckerberg and the Napster guy squeezed him out.

Also im pretty sure the two douchebag rowers are the real good guys in that movie which says a lot for how likeable everyone is in the movie I guess.

Harvard Law School professor Lawrence Lessig wrote in The New Republic that Sorkin's screenplay does not acknowledge the "real villain" of the story:

The total and absolute absurdity of the world where the engines of a federal lawsuit get cranked up to adjudicate the hurt feelings (because "our idea was stolen!") of entitled Harvard undergraduates is completely missed by Sorkin. We can't know enough from the film to know whether there was actually any substantial legal claim here. Sorkin has been upfront about the fact that there are fabrications aplenty lacing the story. But from the story as told, we certainly know enough to know that any legal system that would allow these kids to extort $65 million from the most successful business this century should be ashamed of itself. Did Zuckerberg breach his contract? Maybe, for which the damages are more like $650, not $65 million. Did he steal a trade secret? Absolutely not. Did he steal any other "property"? Absolutely not – the code for Facebook was his, and the "idea" of a social network is not a patent. It wasn't justice that gave the twins $65 million; it was the fear of a random and inefficient system of law. That system is a tax on innovation and creativity. That tax is the real villain here, not the innovator it burdened.

Re: Facebook Co-Founder Renounces Citizenship Prior to IPO; Haters are Perturbed

Eduardo just released a statement that he will pay all taxes on any income he earned while living and working in the US..... I guess the question is now does the IPO count as income while he was living and working in the US, since he has been living in Singapore for a few years already.
