I do think its unnecessary in that respect, read my original post about it. Phrases like "neutral consent" or "negative consent" are oxymora. The value comes in sparking a debate about it.

That's cool that you think it's unnecessary, the entirety of law disagrees with you.

No, just one particular law you happen to hate.

ummmmm just one law, that only applies to colleges agrees with you. The entire point of that law isn't even to change criminal law, which has very different thoughts on the matter than you and for good reason. It's not sexual assault to go for boob while making out and stopping when you get shut down. It's not sexual assault to wake your wife up with a kiss. Not filing paperwork before hand is not sexual assault.

But it is (at some level) to just go for straight for boob without making out. That's why you have the "making out" in your sentence. You realize that at least some level of participation (which could be called consent) is necessary for the other person. You're deliberately trying to get away with finding the end of a gray area.

Now we're just going in circles.

This is what normal people think! I didn't add in making out because it's some level of participation, I added it in because normal people think that isn't sexual assault and:

Spoiler:
that is sexual assault under this yes means yes law.

Spoiler:
Learn what the law actually requires ffs

An affirmative consent standard in the determination of whether consent was given by both parties to sexual activity. “Affirmative consent” means affirmative, conscious, and voluntary agreement to engage in sexual activity. It is the responsibility of each person involved in the sexual activity to ensure that he or she has the affirmative consent of the other or others to engage in the sexual activity. Lack of protest or resistance does not mean consent, nor does silence mean consent. Affirmative consent must be ongoing throughout a sexual activity and can be revoked at any time. The existence of a dating relationship between the persons involved, or the fact of past sexual relations between them, should never by itself be assumed to be an indicator of consent.

What part do you think is new? What part do you disagree with?
10-21-2014 , 05:31 PM
It's already all over this thread. The law is obviously new. You're seriously confused.

I was referring to what you quoted. Its not hard to just bold what you disagree with.

I've made it quite clear. The law is so broadly worded that a guy making out with a girl who goes for boob would be committing sexual assault. That's due to the overly broad affirmative consent definition.

I'm fine with that. I prefer to err on the side of being overly broad than not broad enough.

As long as even one girl has the chance to not say yes, it's all worth it.

I don't know if it's posted on here already but the vid of the little girls cursing up a storm using the F-word is absolutely stellar. Basically, instead of teaching little girls to be careful little princesses, how bout teaching little boys not to ****ing rape.

god that's so stupid.... people are taught not to rape/steal/murder bro.
11-03-2014 , 03:35 PM

"Teach them not to rape" is a theme about how it's ridiculous parents are expected to teach their daughters how to not get raped.

Great place to take a stand, ikes.

1) No, it's not.
2) That would still be ****ing dumb if it was. I was taught not to run around at 3am drunk off my ass because I could get robbed.... #robberyculture

Oh sorry why deal with truths when we can deal with feelings and optics.

My lord... you don't think there's things young men could stand to be taught to consider when it comes to the whole drunk sex thing?
11-03-2014 , 05:14 PM
Again, drunk sex != rape. Teaching boys to not have sex while drunk with drunk girls isn't teaching them not to rape. Thanks for proving the start of that thread correct... again.
