Using the wood itself isn't the problem.

Martin’s catalog, several of their guitars contain “East Indian Rosewood.” In case you were wondering, that is the exact same wood in at least ten of Gibson’s guitars.

No, they can do all that and still have time to raid Gibson. They're really good.

I would think that on the DOJ's priority list that a bunch of damn Guitar makers would be low on the list...
Just watch another terrorist attack happen and after it. They say " we never saw it coming, we were busy busting dirty guitar makers and poker players "

I believe it was in 2009, I posted a quote about that raid early on ITT.

Again, other companies may be using the wood, using it isn't the problem. Its how you get it. Granted it may seem like a silly distinction but that's what it is.

Gibson has a history of importing illegally harvested wood I guess?

Re: Doj raids Gibson guitar

Seems like the stupid thing to do would be to keep getting illegal wood after you've already been raided and know you're on their radar.

Amazing that no matter how stupid the government is, somebody will apologize for it.

Re: Doj raids Gibson guitar

Because that's what I'm doing. Its easy to say everything someone else is doing is stupid when you don't think they should exist. Don't blame a business for making dumb choices when they already know the consequences I guess.

Edit: You can think the law is silly while also thinking Gibson is dumb for, allegedly, repeating behavior where they know they're going to get raided and have **** confiscated.
