DNC 2016: Rock you like a Hillar-Kaine DNC 2016: Rock you like a Hillar-Kaine

It's the Democrats' turn for their convention next week. I doubt anyone will dispute that we're most likely in for much more professional, coordinated affair with larger star power than the raging soiled mattress fire we witnessed in Cleveland last week. I think it's further reasonable to expect a series of precision nuclear strikes from orbit cascading in on the TRUMP campaign over these four days. TRUMP for his part will probably live-tweet responses to every speaker. Not convincing!

Here is the tentative schedule we're looking at:

Monday July 25th: First Lady Michelle Obama, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and Astrid Silva. Silva is a "Dreamer" from Nevada who will talk about her personal immigration story and her activism.

Tuesday July 26th: Former President Bill Clinton will be joined by Mothers of the Movement, mothers of black men and women who have been killed by gun violence or in police custody, including the mothers of Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown.

Wednesday July 27th: President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

Thursday July 28th: Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton.

Added this past Thursday who will also address the convention:

Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey
Sen. Bob Casey of Pennsylvania
U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro of Texas
U.S. Rep. James E. Clyburn of South Carolina
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York
Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota
Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed
Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada
Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire

Finally after two weeks of conventions we can forget about politics, enjoy the Olympics, and then kibitz the heck out of this campaign as it gets underway in earnest.

But who can match the star power of Scott Baio and Antonio Sabato Jr.?

Thought there'd be some entertainment stars in there. Hollywood loves Hillary.

Hell of a political cast though.

Not even any 80's sitcom actors. Sad!

An exceptionally pro move by Michelle would be to re-plagiarize herself e.g. "You know, I once said that your word is your bond and you do what you say you're going to do and that you treat all people with dignity and respect [pause for laughs and cheers] ... [rest of speech]"

That should be "you know, somebody once said" not "you know, I once said", slight but important improvement

Biden, Obama, Warren, Kane... a lot of dynamic, energizing speakers who will remind us how uninspiring Hillary is.

I like less subtlety. "As I said eight years ago..."

Abdul-Jabbar and Debra Messing, plus Eva Longoria, Alicia Keys, and Katy Perry showing up (hopefully the latter's D-cup twins also make an appearance).

Woman brings the big guns out.

Of all the bizarre thread titles on this website, this is what caused you to flip your lid?

Lena Dunham? God kill me now.
07-23-2016 , 09:36 PM
Pretty solid title, imo. Your own work?
07-23-2016 , 09:36 PM
anyone know if DNC is planning to bring out the ambassador Stevens' (Benghazi) mother to speak at the convention or are they just gonna let that whole disgusting episode go?

RE: Lena Dunham

I like her social stances and she's admittedly creative, but she gets way too much attention for someone whose show struggles to get more than 650K viewers.

it's not funny, not witty, not creative, it's not even funny in a dumb way. It's just another failed attempt in a long list.

Trump, who is a simpleton could do better.

Does anyone think "Rock you like a Hillar-Kaine is funny, or witty, or creative ???
