Tbf it was a dumpster fire from post #2 on, but your OP was great.

Any updates you'd like to share would be much appreciated.

Thanks. I left the job recently, my heart just wasn't in it anymore and I sure as hell wasn't in it for the money. I donated a bunch to the ACLU this year which is something I can't say I ever thought I would do before, other than that I admit I haven't really done much. Promising to go to protests is easier than actually going when you've got young kids and don't live near said protests.

It takes a big man to understand something when his livelihood depends on not understanding it. (Not sure who said that first but not me.)

Best of luck with whatever direction life takes you.

I haven't been following the thread.

You quit being a prosecutor?

My brother was a prosecutor, then public defender, and now is a judge. I think he liked being a prosecutor better than PD, but judge I think way way more than either - other than potentially facing elections. I don't know if he can see it - he probably can - but working in the justice system changed him. From his point of view I think he thinks it's being realistic, but from my point of view he looks at a small segment of society and overgeneralizes that. And even in that small segment it's the worst of that segment being overgeneralized.

I think the money has been at least fairly good all along though.
