The Boston Free Speech Rally The Boston Free Speech Rally

08-20-2017 , 02:19 PM
You have any video of the thousands fighting with police in Boston yesterday? So far the only misbehaving I saw was video of was some lady getting her flag stolen.

Edit: Never mind. Apparently there were a few problems later in the day after I stopped paying attention.

Revised crowd estimates:

Nazi scum: 50
Anti-racists: 40,000

A few minor issues among 40000 isn't too bad.

I'll hand it to you Boston folk ... you guys are fun to be around especially at the Foxwoods poker tables.

No, I didn't film anything. I saw lots of people being arrested and crowds pushing and being pushed by dozens of police in riot gear though. Maybe "fighting" isn't the right word to describe this?

There was some good footage on local news taken from a helicopter though, I'm sure someone could find it.

I'll give credit were it is due. This is the first time I've seen Yahoo post a pretty unbiased political news article that captures most sides...

What is it with you people and apostrophes

I understand ****ing it up when you're trying to pluralize stuff, its/it's, and tbh I'm personally not 100% on what to do when you're trying to do a possessive of a plural noun that ends in s.

But you people are just throwing them in the middle of ****ing words here, it's nonsense.
08-20-2017 , 04:53 PM
The real ***** are possessive proper nouns that end in s. "St. James's Park?" Doesn't look right, but it is. I think.

Interestingly, there's a "Patriot" rally planned for SF next Saturday. SF is not open carry...but because the Presidio is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and is under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service, they might be allowed to carry there. So the Oath Keepers (lol) said they're going to show up to provide "security" for a bunch of ragtag misfits headlined by "Based Stickman".

Is it possible that the media and protestors got their wires crossed somehow after the Charlottsvile rally?

I mean its great that 40 000 people came out against racism but the footage iv seen from the rally these people dont seem like nazis or racists. What am I missing?

Im just wondering why people on twitter and in this thread are calling them nazis or racists though?

And from footage of the counter protester they seemed to think they were as well.

If neo-Nazis organize a rally but then are too cowardly to even show up, and the 50 people who do aren't openly sporting swastikas, should liberals be forbidden from calling it a Nazi rally?

Im not forbidding anyone to say anything im just curious. How do you know that it was organised by nazis? And what makes you think the 50 that showed up are nazis?

They have black lives matter banners and there was an Indian dude talking who sounded nothing like a nazi to me.

It doesn't matter if the people that showed up were Nazis or not. A "free speech" rally after Charlottesville is the right trying to reassert itself (it was a conservative group that organized the event, which you seem to be unaware of) even if not under an explicitly white supremacist label. Today was the left showing up and saying "no, you can't disassociate yourselves from this **** and there's more of us than there are of you". Sounds like it was effective!

An Indian MIT graduate Nazi ... lol okay
08-20-2017 , 06:25 PM
Literally all the Nazis cancelled because they were scared, the original speaker list was littered with alt-right types. What actually happened was a bunch of people with profiles so low that nobody cares what they believe held a 40 minute rally for a conman Senate candidate.

Charlottesville ****ing crushed these people's spirits. Whatever optimism they had after November has gradually petered away, and whoops, turns out they are still widely reviled cranks. 20k people against 40, man, that #MAGA magic took a face first dive into reality.
