I know all the republicans are just rehashes of nick van exel, but if we keep banning them the forum loses a lot of its flavor. They make it tough when they are such unpleasant douches

We need to develop a racist tag invisible to the tagged poster. Option to filter racist tagged posters's posts. Confine racist posts to politics and prevent links, overt rants and images, or direct insults to posters. Then, enjoy and needle.

I do want to say that I'm surprised at how willing mods seem to be to ban some of those clowns...

I'm a little torn, because on the one hand they say a ton of stupid (mikeinyonkers) and offensive (redmanplus, swingingglory) stuff, but on the other hand, it provides another viewpoint, and I despise censorship of any kind.

I don't want 2p2 to turn into a lefty/center lefty-only crowd, that's what r/politics is for

I don't want it to be lefty only, either. I mean, I reject the notion that Republicans are inherently racist/prejudiced, and I reject the notion that Republicans are inherently trolls, but I will ban Republican racists, and I will ban Republican trolls, just like I ban Dem and Lib/AC versions of the same. Thankfully, we do have a decent cadre of good Republican posters who don't feel the need to post things like, "The REAL problem with illegal immigrants is that sometimes they get brutally murdered by white supremacists. The poor white supremacists!"

I'm surprised, especially since 2p2 is such a right-leaning demographic.

Yes, hate speech should always be countered with more speech.

I think, on a limb, that the place worries too much about image. Of all the hate-laced, racist, perverted, and angry things I've ever said at live and online poker the only things I got chat banned or 24hr kicks live for were insulting people's intelligence. Oh, and I swiped my hat through an ash tray and threw it all over the floorman.

Modding eventually kills every political forum on primarily non-political web sites. Either the mods or the owners finally decide that it isnt worth the time and effort....Or their political affiliation is so thoroughly trashed, like Negreanu pulling FCPs political forum.

From what I've seen this thread serves more as the other forums regs threads, it's just a catch all for talk that even somewhat relates to the forum. Perhaps that's not it's purpose, but that's it's use, and it seems fine to me.
