In her previous post she showed her hand a little, in that she acknowledged that lower labor costs could result in some savings, so I explicitly pointed that out, which led to that latest gem. It appears that there's some sort of cognitive dissonance block that won't allow her to admit that she knows she's arguing an indefensible position.
It's kind of sad, actually.

Its not so much that she knows she is arguing and indefensible position, but that she is arguing a conclusion.
The exchange that you sum up explains it well and shows why you will never make headway:
1, illegals dont make savings
2, you show that there are possible savings
3, yeah but those savings
must create costs elsewhere
4, facepalm
By the very definition they cannot argue from an "assume all else is equal" position. When they dont do that it allows them to quickly change lanes when you start pinning them down on something. The
just know their conclusion is right, so if you point something out that goes against it they
just know that YOU have missed something else.
