But ignore the legality of this. Outside of "because it's the law", why do you get to work at a certain place when a guy across an imaginary line who will do it better and cheaper then you can't work there?

Jesus, is there a chain letter where everyone gets their analogies at?

What if a citizen fits that bill?

We have already had one "illegal immigration is rape" analogy. No need for a second one.

So, Spain detain Gringos walking on the street minding their own business. That's news to me. Or did you purposely leave out something about the incident?

They might find it easier to carry papers. I don't know what to tell you. I once got pulled over and searched, roughly, because I and my car fit the description of a guy on the same freeway shooting a gun out his window. Got held for 10 minutes until cops further down the road got the right guy.

You know what I thought about it? I understood.

There had been some Basque terrorists actions there, and I was wearing a cap that I suppose was a little Basquish? Something like that. I wasn't manhandled or anything. My Spanish at the time wasn't good enough to really understand all that was going on.

And what were your characteristics of an illegal alien again?

Yep almost the same odds of what happened to you, now happening to all Hispanic-Americans in Arizona, what are those, like once in a lifetime?

Man, it's pretty hard to engage if you are intentionally this obtuse.

Yes there is a need for a second one, because you didn't understand the first one.

"Illegal immigration" and "legal immigration" are separate issues. Stop confusing them and I'll stop reminding you.

again you chose to twist my words. if i meant they would bankrupt the country i would have said that.

however, they certainly would put many more stressors on the system.

i believe i've said before living like a mook in america is a much higher standard of living than in a box in kenya.

also, fwiw... we are already pretty bankrupt

We understand that. Legal immigration means you got some paper from someone that says you can cross a line and illegal immigration means you don't have that. What people are saying is that illegal immigrants obviously have some sort of consent to be here, because an employer has consented for them to work here. It is someone else that is not giving the consent.

You're asking whether there should still be nations. That would massively derail the thread.

For now, there are nations, and the question is: does the US have the same right to enforce pretty much the same immigration laws that all other nations have, or should they be singled out and denied that right?

Why does the comparison to other nations matter? Is the US being denied the right to abuse it's immigrants in it's prisons because Mexico does?

"someone's" consent is not the same as "our" consent. If you ask a drunk if you can rape a little girl and he says sure, you'll have gotten "someone's" consent.
