Does he go to the UN first and have Russian veto?

Does he just launch drone strikes?

Boots on the ground?

I'd be surprised if nothing comes of this, my guess is we see airstrikes targeting supposed chemical weapons facilities and perhaps some strike teams on the ground (although they are probably there already, let's be real).

I wouldn't. Trump is an unpopular president and getting mired in another Middle East adventure with few good outcomes just opens him up to even more criticism and unpopularity. He is nothing if not vain.

(edit: and I also wouldn't be surprised to see something like drone strikes that lets him say we're doing something while not committing too heavily, but I would definitely be surprised for a major escalation like boots on the ground)

No ****ing chance he does this, he's not a cuck.

I'm guessing we'll do some "strategic" drone strikes where we hit a few military targets and some civilian **** like hospitals or mosques again.

I am confused as to how anyone can think that nothing is about to happen when talk of military action has been building for months, if not years. It seems pretty easy to read the writing on the wall here, especially with how the chemical weapons attack is being played in the media combined with Trump saying it changed his mind on Assad. You just think the U.S. is bluffing right now to get him to step down somehow?

edit: Also, this is the kind of war that the establishment of both parties wants and is a great counter to the concerns that he is a Russian puppet. War should be good for his approval rating in the short-term, at the least.

lol @ 'Go to War with Syria' while there are Russian warplanes in the sky. Lob some cruise missiles and call it a day or similar is most likely. Right now there are too many players - Assad, Putin, Turkey, Kurds, various rebel factions, Iran, Western powers - for there to be any 'solution.' It'll be many years of this to come until some of these players are bled or weakened enough to consider a peace deal.

/armchair diplomatist analysis.

He can't. Putin will publish his nudes.
04-06-2017 , 05:06 PM
I, for one, would like to see those along w/ the sex tape, if any.

You guys are all thinking on level one.

Because Putin has material implicating Trump AND we know about it and his collusion, that makes Trump the perfect fall-guy for this operation, if and when necessary.

Sure would have been nice had the Obama administration not knowingly armed some real bad hombres.
04-06-2017 , 09:12 PM
Tomahawks being lobbed at Syria atm
04-06-2017 , 09:16 PM
:/
04-06-2017 , 09:23 PM
Here we go.......

Tomahawk missiles launched.

Unless these missiles are directly targeting Assad then wtf is the point? To bomb Aleppo again?

Trump:

Liar, idiot, national embarrassment (you betcha'). but heh, at least he's not a coward, a real bloody **** when it comes to fake red lines. Barry's inaction killed those babies, sick, sad.

God Bless America

So Trump starts bombing Assad and Dan's response is to blame Obama for giving YPG assault rifles(or something, it's tough to say what infowars bull**** he's complaining about here). Real tough for him to square the circle of two guys he likes fighting, so the bad guy here is OBAMA for making Daddy and the Lion fight.

I posted before the strikes. And I know you are wholly uninformed and completely ignorant of US foreign policy in Syria and the Middle East, so I mean flounder about like a fool if you wish, but your opinion is absolutely worthless neoliberal.

Hoping for the best, scared for the worst.

Despite any desire trump might have to actually do what's best here, he's probably completely surrounded by dudes that have been trying to convince him to go to war since before inauguration.
04-06-2017 , 10:07 PM
How exciting! I'm sure this is going to go great and turn out exactly the way we want.
04-06-2017 , 10:10 PM
how is reddit/the donald taking this?

Suddenly less funny since they'll be the first to get drafted in a war against russia?
04-06-2017 , 10:11 PM
Will be interesting to see Israel's response.
04-06-2017 , 10:12 PM
This is the first time I'm hoping Trump did something right.

Please please please don't let us have 150k troops in Syria in a year.
