3rd grader shoots another 3rd grader. Yay guns! - Politics and Economics

An 8-year-old girl was shot in the abdomen at an elementary school in Washington state Wednesday afternoon and one of her classmates was detained, authorities said.

Happened in Bremerton, WA near where I live. My guess is that he got daddy's gun and brought it to school. Pretty sad and disgusting. Girl is in critical condition. Would love to hear what the pro-gun people have to say about this ****.

You're right. I can't believe that gun jumped up into his hand and said, "shoot that girl". If only we didn't have those evil evil guns.

Hmmmm maybe his parents should keep the gun out of reach from their 3rd grader and explain to him that it is a lethal weapon not a toy. Sounds like horrible horrible parenting and a total lack of responsibilty by the people who are responsible for the child.

It is irresponsible, but why should we assume people will act irresponsibly? There are lots of other dangerous things that children shouldn't have. Should we ban bleach?
