Didn't romney have like 90% in UT in 2012? TRUMP would need god-level #notresonating to lose there. Maybe if Hil has some pics of him pooping in a set of magic underwear? Even then, it's not enough to get people to not vote TRUMP, she's got to convince them to vote FOR HER.

Deseret News's final poll was Romney +48, same outlet currently has Hillary at +2, so basically ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ idk what's going to happen.

Prediction: despite what he's saying now, Bernie drops out shortly after the next big primary or primaries

Wrong thread.

Bernie is going to win every state from now until June 7th anyway. If we discount Virgin Islands, Guam and Puerto Rico, he only has to win WV, Oregon and Kentucky. I can see him doing that. All very white.

#writeinromney for Utah would be epic. I'd also take #writeincruz for Texas, or they can just secede, no hard feelings.

Apparently the #1 thing that correlated negatively with TRUMP support was Mormon voters. I wouldn't be shocked if Utah is in play and I think that makes Nevada almost a Hillary lock.

Mormons as a group are big on civic involvement (see the overrepresentation of LDS in western states' GOPs) so its easy for me to see Utah going to HRC despite her being an extreme "lesser of two evils" to the population there. If I may stereotype, I don't see Mormons as a demographic sitting out the election.

Zimmer:

Paradoxically, the reason why Utah may be in play has to do with Trump's anti-Muslim rhetoric. While it's probably true that Mormons don't share a great love or affinity for Muslims and the Islamic faith, they react viscerally to religious persecution. Mormons have suffered persecution for their faith so they feel especially sensitive when another religion is attacked. Trump's attack on Muslims appears to have rubbed Utah's Mormons the wrong way. (This might explain some of why Mitt Romney came out so strongly against Trump.)

Yeah, exactly. Mormons are deeply conservative, but in a 1950s-style community/civic pride sense. They're not going to want to vote for an obnoxious bombshell who will tear the system down. I also don't think the racial animus is nearly as visceral as it is in the Deep South, which is not to say that there isn't prejudice, but fears of miscegenation generally aren't strong among people who've never seen a black guy before.

yeah, everyone agrees that mormons don't like TRUMP. The thing is, they like Hil even less.

Voting is a civic duty. They'll go with the lesser of two evils rather than sit it out imo. Also, aside from Hil being a woman and a Democrat, her center-right politics isn't too unpalatable for them.

As soon as the Republican Convention is over all these Republicans who say that they either won't vote for TRUMP or will vote for Hilary will suddenly become very pro TRUMP people.

Same thing happened in 2008 with Clinton supporters.

Quote:
In a CNN poll released Friday, 60 percent of Clinton supporters said they would vote for Obama, but 17 percent said they would vote for McCain and 22 percent, said they would not vote at all if Clinton were not the nominee.
Guess who they voted for on election day?

People are butthurt right now because their guy lost. Six months from now they'll convince themselves that TRUMP really is the guy that they supported all along.

Also the economy collapsed, McCain nominated the worst VP of all time, and Hillary gave an enthusiastic endorsement of Obama and campaigned for him. Other than these minor points the two elections are identical and the stray 15% will bend the knee any day now.

Also also, Trump is currently pivoting and winning the Hispanics.

Assuming that Trump is more like Obama than McGovern is a pretty bold prediction

i mean, as far as stupid bets go, that's a pretty smart one. If trump wins, you can afford to live in his version of america.
If trump loses, progressivism will be there to save you from yourself.

Bill Still came out with a 50 state Trump win prediction. People will realize Obama and Clinton are nothing special. They did get to where they are from accomplishments? But from bribes and shady backroom deals. They get kickbacks of $100,000 speeches. Ghost written books earn them millions. They are there to take your tax dollars. They will spend it like it is their own money. They are crooks, trash. They spent their whole careers ruining other peoples lives to get ahead. They are nothing more that cheap lawyer whores. The mafia gives a lot away to charity too.

3:00 3:30 All 50 3:50.

So Trump takes over his father's $200M business, makes some money, goes broke, repeat cycle a couple times and that's an accomplishment?

Obama comes from a middle class broken home to become a law professor, congressman, senator and then POTUS and that's not an accomplishment?

+1

Lets dispel with this fiction that Barack Obama doesn't know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing! Barack Obama is undertaking a systematic effort to change this country. To make America more like the rest of the world.

NC, demographically speaking, is becoming younger and younger. the metro areas (which obv tend to go blue) are growing/expanding and the job and housing market have been doing well under obama, no thanks to tom thillis and pat mccrory. for all my gripes about NC and its state legislators, racism and utter boon****ery in the rural areas, as someone who grew up here, i'll be surprised if it doesn't go blue in november

and lets not forget the moral monday protests and outrage over the new non-anti-discrimination law. what's crazy is that charlotte is the biggest metro area, tends to lean republican (or has more R's than both the triangle and triad metro areas), and the whole reason that bathroom law was passed in the first place was in response to charlotte passing a local non-discrimination ordinance. doesn't look good for repubs this season
