I'm curious what your reaction is when these things happen. Do you just feel sad and shrug your shoulders and say oh well, these things just happen? I'm not criticizing, I'm actually curious.

My reaction is to feel awful that we let these things happen and to immediately start thinking of what could have been done to prevent such things (much like Bloomberg and many others I'm sure). I feel terrible that all these people died because we failed as a country to prevent this lunatic's access to dangerous weapons.

What type of gun it is is relevant. No one needs a AK47. Tragic no matter what. How do you get tear gas?

It could easily be a single shot variant of the AR-15. Doubt it's an automatic due to price and lack of availability.

This is an emotional argument.

It's a good, feel good thought, it really is, however I'm aware of the fact that, no matter how badly you want to, you really can't stop him from getting a gun.

jfc. An AR-15 isn't an AK, it's not an assault rifle, it's a standard semiautomatic rifle that looks really really scary. This guy could have done the same thing with a dear rifle.
