2+2 Sports Betting,

You may have interest in the web app I've been building, Wagermetrics:

http://wagermetrics.com

You can filter many useful subsets of NFL games (and NBA games) and examine their performance against the spread and total, and view a table with the opening and closing spreads and totals for each game. (College football coming soon!)

Soon you'll be able to search by date ranges and spread/total ranges. And at some point you'll be able to filter games by consensus (i.e., what % of the public is on a given side). So please keep checking back. What other features would you like to see? What are your suggestions for improvement? Please point out bugs if you see them.

Thanks.

P.S. Does it look bad in Internet Explorer? If so, this site is probably not for you.

Note: I asked a mod before making this post, and to be clear, the site has no advertising and I am not profiting from it in any way. It's mainly for personal use and to show potential employers.

Just out of curiosity, from which book are you taking your opening and closing lines?

I'd rather not say, other than it's a prominent offshore sportsbook with lines that reflect the market.

The site will be continually updated with new features and search parameters - I found a handful of errors in the NFL database I'm going to fix, and soon the data tables will be much, much more aesthetically pleasing.

College football should be up by the end of this week.

it is a law of nature that laying 3 on a nfl road team is a terrible bet

aren't there two parts to a bet (i.e., points and price) which will influence the ROI

that is the first question i would ask if i was a potential employer

All prices are assumed -110. This is obviously not the case, but over large samples, this wouldn't meaningfully affect ROI in most cases vs using actual prices.

I have considered using actual prices, but at present I think it provides very little benefit vs. the amount of work it would require and potential confusion it could introduce.

Initially I left out ROI altogether, and only included the break-even percentages at the bottom, but I think having ROI there adds something.

P.S. That question is infinitely more intelligent than the questions actual employers ask.

Was this a project for a coding bootcamp etc or more just a personal project to add to your portfolio?

I did initially present a prototype for a coding bootcamp, but this is something I've always wanted to do. It's more for personal use/portfolio display.

This is awesome I've always tried to find things like this on google but never know exactly what to search for, so simple and easy to use as well, really good stuff. Bet the Bills as home underdogs! (Which they won't be again for some time)

I am pleased to announce that college football is now up on Wagermetrics! (link is in the OP)

One potentially interesting result: FBS teams are 58-35-1 so far this season against FCS teams.

The site has now been updated with last week's data. Sorry for the late update. Updates will typically be on Mondays and Tuesdays for football, and daily for NBA.

Just a quick note that wagermetrics.com is up and running for the 2016-17 football and basketball seasons. Updates should be nightly now for football, rather than weekly. This will be my only post about it, unless I have a very good reason to update. The site has no ads and no registration - use it as you will. Happy wagering!
