Tom: do you think books like 5dimes and bovada make money on props? Ive always wondered why books even offer these markets, it seems like they only attract sharp action.
Bovada all juice the same, 5dimes all but one prop has more juice. Is that just because Bovada is slower to change lines (like every other sport) or is 5d scared of you? Or both maybe
I popped all 5dimes props once he posted, at the same price he posted except the mayo prop I got -110 and he posted -130.
Also anytime I'd max bet a baseball prop on 5dimes they would move it 5-10 minutes later. Pretty sure they don't care who is betting the props, just that someone is max betting them.

curious about this myself.
gotta be the 30 cent line gives them a pretty big headstart, but then they don't move the line (bovada specifically) basically ever.

I'd guess yes on the more rec books. They probably don't make a lot of money because volume is light but these are 30c lines (~6.5% theoretical hold). Sharps get limited at the rec books leaving the rec bettors to either balance the sharp money or bet into lines and get eaten up by the vig. I'd guess pro shops probably lose money on props since sharps pick them off at higher limits without enough buyback or recreational money to make up for the loss.
I went to bet it and the line changed to -130 after I clicked the place bet button . Nba prop page wasnt up more than 15 sec before I tried to place bet, said f it.
