Super Bowl Thread... (It's kind of a big deal)

Patriots (-3) vs Giants

o/u 55

discuss away....

First look, I like the G-men. They've been the most impressive team in the playoffs and the last month of the season. Also, not to take anything away from the Patriots, but they've played two teams that don't even compare to the Giants offense. Eli will throw all over them, imo.

Not sure about o/u though. If I had to, I think I'd bet the over... but I think it's close.

Patriots were having a lot of difficulty stopping Baltimore's offense. Giants should be able to move the ball quite a bit. If they can get any sort of consistent pressure on Brady, they should win. Watched their first matchup, and Giants were dominating most of the game. Liking Giants but curious where people think the line will move?

Wondering about the line movement myself. Read an article at covers and it said that it opened at -3.5 was bet down to 3 then back up to 3.5

Re: Super Bowl Thread... (It's kind of a big deal)

The last month the Giants have been on fire. Manning is maturing into quite the calm performer in crunch time, but it was against a Niner offense which was putrid (a complete relapse from the previous week). One concern for many is the Patriots secondary. The regular season both secondaries for both teams were awful (29th Giants, 31st Pats), and their rushing defense was similar (2 spots apart at 19/17 respectively). The post season shares a similar tale, with both teams performing on same levels.

At the end of the day I don't believe Brady will allow himself or his teammates to lose focus twice vs them (or 3 times, if you count the regular season), and add to the equation they just went through Baltimore's tough D.

Patriots -3, and I expect that line to move quite a bit.

I feel like o55 is very likely. Fast field, indoors and two secondaries that are suspect to the big play. Neither set of receivers is going to be kept under wraps like their conference title games.

Re: Super Bowl Thread... (It's kind of a big deal)

Under all day. Both defenses have improved since the last game...especially the Giants who come in red hot. Pats also have Spikes and Chung back which is big for that defense although the Giants should be able to move the ball freely.

First game was defensive thriller for the first 3 quarters. The line is just too inflated and one team will have to score at least 35+ to hit the over...I just don't see that happening.

Pats -3 2u

I think on the numbers Giants have a little more value at +3 but I think the psychological edge is definitely with the Pats.

Re: Super Bowl Thread... (It's kind of a big deal)

I'm on the Giants to win here (33.3u for me if they do)

Not hedging, F the pats. Should be a good game.

I've ridden the Giants pretty hard (and pretty profitably) the last couple months, so one last big one and I hope they can win here.

Also:

I don't see this line moving (-3) a lot and am guessing it closes at -3

I was reading this, and I'm not sure how this could make any sense?

I tried to guess the line on the Super Bowl,” Cowherd continued. “I had Giants about 6.5, 7 (point favorites). They’ve got the Patriots as a favorite? Wow!

How were the Giants ever going to be a 6.5 point favorite

I'd much rather wager against this than on the game.

I like your style.

You are right. I have not slept in a day and meant to type "I expect a lot of movement on this line" in terms of lot of money moved on the pats side.

Sorry for the confusion.
