Not even close to the worst, but KSU threw up a garbage 3-pointer yesterday as time ran out. The guy managed to drain it as the buzzer went off to go from down 5 to down 2 and cover.

Giants Joe Pisarcik hands off to Larry Csonka in run the clock out garbage time, fumble, Herman Edwards recovers, runs it back for an Eagle TD.

This changed the way running out the clock was handled, it evolved to the Pisarcik kneel...

Reminds me of last year when everybody was on here bitching about Gtown/Memphis when +7 looked so golden until Sapp hit a meaningless bank shot 3pter while running off the court to celebrate with fans before the shot even went in the basket, that screwed that spread royally.

Not a bad beat (and I had Kansas). Woulda been nice to steal one for sure but we got really lucky to even be in a position to have a chance there.

I'll never forget this one as long as I live. I had the Pistons on the money line in this game several years back for about half my bankroll at the time (LOL money management.) They ended up winning in overtime. I ran around and screamed like a little girl for a minute straight after this shot went in.

If they had flags or whistles in baseball, they would use them when a walk is issued. It's easier for the ump to point to first base instead.

Any time I have an NBA UNDER and the game is under the total by like 15-20 points in regulation and it goes to OT and I lose. Oh and it has happened to me the past 2 nights (Suns last night, Nuggets tonight). Tilts me soooo hard.

Plenty of BBs that I won't bore you with. Best story I have is a guy I currently work with. Freak sports better, could do it full time if he had to, mad stats man with memory normal people can dream of. Prob has mild something or other.

Anyway, he is 19 he picks every game in NRL (rugby league) one week in a multi, not sure how much he had on but collected $8K. Book puts it in his bank account, takes $2K out for another multi to pick all 10 legs. It gets there (one game by a point) and collects $118K.

His parents opened his mail, which I am told was normal, they see his balance and go absolutely spastic when he gets home (they had previously spoken to him about his gambling habits).

Parents make him put it into a managed fund and I think it is up over $250K now.

For the 2004 - 2005 season, I backed the New England Patriots for the Superbowl and AC Milan for the Champions League football (soccer). Pats were around 8/1 and Milan were around 11/1. I did two singles and a double, which stood to pay out at around 100/1.

Patriots won the Superbowl and Milan made it to the final of the Champions League, where they faced Liverpool. At half time Milan were 3-0 up, with bookmakers at that point offering 1/100 on a Milan triumph. As we all know, Liverpool came back to draw 3-3 and then win on penalties.

Usually I would lay such a bet off in running to guarantee a profit, but thought it incomprehensible Liverpool would come back. The moral of the story is - always lay off to guarantee a profit! Don't think i've ever felt as sick as that losing a bet - a real sucker punch.

last Super Bowl I had Cardinals for the first half +3 or something - they of course are covering and have ball inside Steeler ten yard line with like 15 seconds or something to go in half. Fairly hard to lose that bet.

Harrison makes pick, follows with historical run down sideline, gets into endzone as time runs out by about an inch (after replay review of course). Just sick to watch.

I'm 95% sure that the spread in this game was 3/3.5. Couldn't find video.

* November 29 vs. Buffalo Bills:

Local hero Doug Flutie made his first visit to Foxboro Stadium since his days as Patriots quarterback, where he'd won all five starts there. Directing the Bills he threw for 339 yards and rushed for 30 more, leading the Bills to a 21-17 lead in the game's final minute. From there, and despite still nursing a broken finger on his throwing hand, Drew Bledsoe led the Patriots downfield and completed a fourth-down throw to the Bills 26 to Shawn Jefferson with six seconds remaining. There was a referee conference after the play regarding the spot of the ball, at which point one of the referees was heard to say "just give it to them", in reference to the first down.[7] Bledsoe threw for the endzone on the next play but the ball fell incomplete; the Bills were flagged for pass interference, extending the game by one untimed down, and from the one-yard line Bledsoe lofted a play-action pass to Ben Coates for the winning touchdown. The disgusted Bills (who felt Jefferson was out of bounds on the catch at the 26) went to the locker room even though the extra point still had to be kicked; Adam Vinatieri thus ran in an unopposed two-point conversion for a 25-21 Patriots win, the first career loss in Foxboro for Flutie.

The PI on Jones in the end zone on a Hail Mary was so bad that the Jefferson play, which was even worse, gets overlooked. Besides Jefferson not actually catching the ball, even if he did hold on as the homer refs ruled, it would have been short of the 1st down by a half yard. The officials in charge of the markers screwed up too and there was total confusion. I don't recall the line on the game.

0:46 San Antonio full timeout
0:37 107-100 Tyreke Evans personal foul (Tim Duncan draws the foul)
0:37 Tim Duncan misses free throw 1 of 2 107-100
