I guarantee some people lost some money today and it illustrates the issues w/ touts, or just tailing someone in general.

By the time they gain ur trust ... ur just signing up for the other side of variance

The essence of betting big money favorites. You win most days, but when you lose it stings. Most gamblers lose. Betting big moneyline favorites merely delays the inevitable and gives the illusion of winning to recreational gamblers who have no sustainable edge. This is the first day I opened this thread, betting big ML favorites is probably one of the easier ways to convinve people short term that you are a winning gambler. The crash is sudden and dramatic, did this guy lose today?

this +1000

this is why threads like these and ledoutwithbottomset and i like to party guys threads are so horrible...if you dont have an edge at sportsbetting you will lose money at sportsbetting. It doesnt matter what system your idiot buddy came up with or how many hours of espn you watch.

Re: Playing Favorites on the Money line?

Why not take two heavy favorites that you would bet and parlay them. Takes a huge risk right out of the equation.
NBA is ridiculous anyways. Either people can make a ton cuz they can figure out where the fix is or you will lose a ton cuz you dont know. College betting seems to be the easier of the two to at least have a chance in.

I love how this thread became way more serious after Luke made it extremely clear that he's trolling.

How could Orlando lose? They had such a talent edge.

This thread is boring when Luke and his buddy are not winning. I hope he doesn't give up the dream.

Calm down people.

Notify your bookie. Get your bankrolls ready. Luke will be back. Stronger than ever. Mark my words.

Kid is a sharp. 21 days isn't a fluke.

You suck 0-3 on 3 big favorites -440, -600, and -250 in 2 days. Please don't clutter 2+2 with such garbage.

After dropping 33 units in one whack, the only sniffable white stuff within his budget is Elmer's Glue. However, I am 80% certain he comes back strong with a talent edge lock winna tomorrow. There is a bookie somewhere losing sleep at the thought of fading those ML favs. Like walking through a minefield, it goes well most the time.

Not neccessarily. Your entrance into trailing a winning gambler's picks is independent of his selection process and should have no effect on the outcome of his subsequent picks. In a crunch I will blindly fade certain cappers picks, they are long term winners, and long term I win doing this regardless of how often or which days I choose to follow them.

If a coinflipper convinces you to trail his picks, you will probably end up losing alot of juice before you realize you are chasing your tail. Many coinflippers can occassionally use a rush of positive variance to attract followers/customers. Inevitably their coinflip expectations(losing juice) are revealed as their sample size approaches infinity. The key is never trailing the nealy 99% of people who coinflip or lose long term.

Dodger and poogs, if anyone lost money tailing this guy they get what they deserve. The discussion in this thread could not have made it more clear that his sample size sucked and that the masses considered him to be the most ridiculous of idiots.

If there really were hard lessons learned by people actually tailing him I would be a bit surprised but I guess its not impossible. Maybe they will wise up and realize that tailing a tout who has won 7 straight games as a 75% fave on each or whatever he was isn't such a hot idea.

Poogs, this guy isn't really the same as iliketoparty who at least keeps accurate records and shows that he's losing. Is there really a risk of people following a guy who is down that much?

Anyway, I think the concern is a bit misplaced. It's through discussions like this thread that even noobs can see how ridiculous people like this guy are. If they can't then they'll end up getting scammed anyway, right?

I do find it kind of odd that people are jumping on this like crazy now that he's lost. That's pretty much the same sample size nonsense as when he was winning. His loss on that pick doesn't prove he is a loser no more than his initial wins proved he is a winner. What proves he is a loser is how idiotic all of his logic is, his insistence that its a once in a lifetime handicapper, etc.

Re: Playing Favorites on the Money line?

he is betting heavy favorites so one loss is much more indicative than a couple of wins. and if i read correctly he lost the last 3. obv lol samplesize though.

Re: Playing Favorites on the Money line?

If he lost 3 in a row that would be quite impressive. I admit that I'm not exactly paying attention to his results since they are obviously completely irrelevant. I just saw everyone going ORLANDOLOLOL at him so thought that was his first.

Regardless, the point remains that he was just as mock-worthy and ridiculous at 9-0 or whatever he was as he would be at 9-1 or 9-3.

Re: Playing Favorites on the Money line?

victor - Go ahead and report a post or two or PM me or whatever.

I pretty much never look in there and no nothing about soccer and I'm not familiar with the names and posters in that thread so it all becomes a lot more difficult for me to identify and I would pretty much be going from scratch.

I do not believe I have ever received a post-report or any other kind of complaint from that thread so I guess I assumed that all was generally well in there.

I'm happy to do something if it's called for but you are way way more familiar with whatever idiot is doing what in there so go ahead and report or give me the cliffs-notes on it if you don't mind.

Re: Playing Favorites on the Money line?

victor - I vaguely remember (getting a PM that is...which I'm guessing was you).

I think I might have looked at that time and even chimed in to knock it off or maybe nuked an account or something. Can't remember. It was awhile ago.

Sorry if I was busy at that time and didn't get on it too diligently back then. Some days are busier than others for me. go ahead and remind me or try again or whatever if it's bad (or even not so bad).

Re: Playing Favorites on the Money line?

He's back and not panicking. Still up a nice amount and is ready to ride the top teams on the ML all the way to the Final Four.

He's likely staying away from the NBA for now. He thinks last nights games were clearly rigged. Since he murderers the house in college basketball it's time to get back to what he does best.

risking 7.35 units to win 3, Georgetown -245
