NFL Season Total Wins

Apologize if there was a thread on this already. I didn't see one on the first few pages.

My picks for regular season wins are:

San Francisco: Under 10 Wins -128
New Orleans: Under 10 Wins -151
Chicago: Under 9.5 -139
Miami: Under 7.5 -187

I'm going to be fading the jets this year and taking a + on under 8.5...bills aremuch improved and you can pencil in two losses to the pats...both QBs suck and the coach is an egomaniac...its going to be a circus IMO

The Bears ran pretty terribly last year and went 8-8. I do like your other picks though.

Why the under on the Saints? I know about all the turmoil but their offense was better than ever last year with the additions of Sproles/Graham.

They gotta go 9-7 for you to win that bet, 7 is a lot of Ls for Drew Brees and co.

Brees and co. usually includes Payton. My bet reflects that I'm not confident that Brees is going to be nearly the same QB without Payton. Losing a head coach like him could be devastating.

Also, during the off season they lost Meachem and Nicks to free-agency

Re: NFL Season Total Wins

Although your logic is sound, Apocalypse, I think you're overlooking the psyche of the Saints. I expect Brees and Co. to come out in eff- you mode early in the season, much like the Patriots after spygate.

at least 10 wins and the NFC South crown are locks, IMO.

Some of mine, aside from the jags under 5.5:

Cowboys over 8.5
Chargers under 9
Cardinals under 7

Payton did tear his ACL last year and didn't call plays the final 8 games or whatever and the offense was fine FWIW.

I don't see Meachem as much of a loss at all. He was what their 4th or 5th option on O? They still got Sproles, Graham, Colston, Moore, Henderson, Pierre. Nicks is a legit loss but he is still just a guard in a pass heavy offense.

Fair enough. But I think there's a significant difference in starting a season without your coach and not having him with the team off field.
