Not entirely sure about your question but if you're betting $100 per unit and I make more than 1 unit per month, I guess it's worth it. I guess it really comes down to what you're comfortable betting, but I'd say even $20 per unit is probably worth it since I give on average probably 3-4 picks per day, so that comes out to $1 or less per pick/write-up.
Jdwarriors5, I've been following your picks. I have a few questions for you and Sharky.

1) Jd, for $99 a month you provide only picks for NCAAB? No NBA?
2) Sharky, for $49 a month you provide only picks on football and how many picks a day during the season? Sharky, do you give picks on NCAA or NBA? If you do, how many picks a day?

Thanks and happy holidays.

I think you should just email them directly as this isnt an advertising forum.
fwiw I have subscription to sharky's football plays and he gives away 6-10 football plays / week.
he does really well in college football. but is winning slightly in the NFL
also, I don;t think you should be looking for how many picks. I would rather have someone give me 2-3 winning plays than 20 plays that break even . less stress imo

Re: NCAAB bets

I agree to come back and post my winning picks to this thread provided the following qualifications are met:

Letout and Gocubsgo self ban themselves from this thread permanently.
Everyone else who told me to stop posting picks write a formal apology.

Tough but fair I think.

Re: NCAAB bets

Does anyone else realize this whole thread was designed for the goal of eventually selling picks? The almost daily write ups, and friendly engaging responses from OP were all measures to cultivate customers. I also think it is no coincidence that the OP was almost always able to get the most favorable spreads for his games to ensure the best possible record he could "document."

It is also very convenient to start selling picks before conference play starts, when oddmakers numbers become much sharper and the significance of the actual line you bet becomes even more important as games are often tightly contested near the spread. Good luck to anyone selling picks and those willing to pay them.

Considering noone came to your defense when you were asked to leave, and noone has asked for your picks to return, I like your sense of humor. Your next move should be to document the winning record you claim to have established, then.......drumroll please........sell your picks.

Not true at all. My goal in creating this thread was always to document my record and offer insight to generate discussion. I was only recently approached with an offer, so the timing has nothing to do with conference play or anything.

Also, multiple times throughout the season my posted picks were actually worse lines than were currently out and I was told to shop better for lines. Sometimes you get better lines, sometimes you get worse. It's all part of betting. I always posted the line I actually took with the correct juice as part of a way to keep an accurate record since that was the main goal. My lines were always from pinnacle and you can even go back and look at line histories if you wish to do so. Basically your entire statement was false.

You obviously have no reservations about taking the first deal to sell your picks that came your way. So while it may have not been your primary original intent, you were more than willing to jump ship and abandon this thread at the first opportunity. And you have followed these forums long enough to know that others, including sharky, gave away free picks here then proceeded to start selling their picks.

I would not know the specifics regarding the lines you posted. I can only comment from the several days I tailed your picks and always got either the same line as you posted or a worse one. This is a small sample size and obviously it is unfair for me to assume you posted lines favorable to your selections. I would, however, make a prop bet that the lines you posted deviated in your favor versus the actual line at the the time of posting. Again small sample size, and I doubt your intent was nefarious.

I enjoyed your picks and can see your analysis improving with experience and expectations. I suspect you will have a winning record for the remainder of the season, although I doubt you will maintain as high of an roi as you have through the early season. Obviously oddmakers will have more info upon which to base their spreads and the numbers will generally be sharper.

I could never understand the nuthugging, especially considering it was obviously a college aged, relatively inexperieced handicapper without any computer or rigorous mathematical background. Maybe I am jaded from picking winners longer than most of the posters have been alive, but people beating the odds then selling their picks is as old as gambling itself.

All communites battle with two faced people, as there is always a conflict between personal interests and the greater good of the community. While many followers can be viewed as two faced, someone who posts their picks as a means to keep a record and stimulate debate, then decides to charge the community once interest in their picks becomes high is very self serving and obviously only a part of the community until a better opportunity comes along.
