Dumb parlay question... Dumb parlay question...

...but can adding a big favorite to a parlay actually decrease the payouts? Say for instance I have an open slot left in a 6 team parlay; I've won the first 5 games with odds of:

Game 1: -110
Game 2: +155
Game 3: +115
Game 4: -130
Game 5: -110
Game 6: (open)

On 5d it only shows the total of what I've won so far. If I'm happy with just taking this amount, and decided to pick a team that is -5000, could this actually reduce the amount that I've won so far?

If it loses, it will reduce the amount you've won to zero. Otherwise, no.

Good luck,

This. It's not going to decrease your payout. But it's only going to increase it a tiny bit.

Let's say the 5 teamer pays 10k and the 6th team is -5000. Well know you're risking that 10k to win an extra $200 (10,200 payout).

Yeah but I can't just cut and run as far as I know. I think I have to fill the slot. So I'm just going to take whatever wager I can find with the least amount of risk since it won't actually reduce what I've won at this point.

If you're that concerned about it that you can arb it out by taking the other side as well.
