I have one of those offshore accounts where you bet on it and meet the guy at the end of the week.

I was looking at the golf and noticed the field was +1000 which I thought was really high. They only list 29 golfers (Scott, Speith, Henson, Reed, Furyk, Rose, Oosthuizen, Westwood, Kuchar, Donald, Snedeker, Poulter, Moore, English, Woodland, Watney, Donaldson, Berger, Dufner, Laird, Bae, Na, Mackenzie, Howell, Todd, Senden, Harrington, Luiten)

The field is 115 golfers. Does anyone else think this is high? I don't bet on golf usually so I'm not sure but I would think the field should be +200 or so. I put $300 on The Field.

Event has 144 entrants. +1000 is stealing.

I thought so too. I'm waiting for it to hit and have them tell me it's a mistake. I took a screenshot just in case.

Ha. If it hits and I get paid off no problem I'll post the site. I'm 95% certain it's not a site you can deposit on. I met a guy at a bar and said I wanted to bet on Super Bowl and he gave me a website and account# and pw and it's a site that maintains bets and I meet him every week to settle up.

youre on whats called a pay per head site. Its a skin of some other site probably and it isnt like bodog or 5dimes where you can just call up and deposit, although I wouldnt post the site if i were you.

also you seem like a noob...be careful about guys you meet at bars who want your action. some are good as gold but are scum. its like 50/50 id say

So i hit my field bet last week. Had defending champion Matt Avery as part of the field. Do you guys think getting this price is a huge error? The field is 115 guys. They originally graded it as a loss, then made the correction when I called up.

Have you got paid? The field is def a 2-1 shot. To get the odds you are quoting it would be something like the bottom 70 golfers.

Yeah got paid. So annoyed I only put $80 on it last week! 2 weeks ago I put $300 on it. I'll post my bet this Thursday for this week

You might want to throw a few bucks on other players as well to make it less obvious.

If you want to estimate your EV for this bet, Betfair has a market for all players. One can bet Yes or No on all players, so it's a pretty easy way to get an estimate.

Right now for the Texas Open, Betfair says:
The top 10 players have a combined 43.3% chance of winning.
The next 5 players have a combined 9.2% chance of winning.
The next 5 players have a combined 7.7% chance of winning.
The next 5 players have a combined 6.5% chance of winning.
The next 5 players have a combined 5.2% chance of winning.
The next 5 players have a combined 4.2% chance of winning.
The next 5 players have a combined 3.3% chance of winning.
The next 5 players have a combined 3.0% chance of winning.
The next 5 players have a combined 2.6% chance of winning.

So the top 50 players are a combined 85% to win, but you could get a pretty good estimate depending how many players they offer.

lol their odds on the top 30 are so shocking, they probably don't notice the field is good because they have a huge over-round.

Also as advised stfu and print money.

Assuming the max is $300, I think the play is to find one or two guys with reasonable odds compared to Pinnacle/Betfair and bet $100 on them, in addition to a max bet on the field.

You might also want to look for some weak lines in popular sports, some neutral EV $100 bets could go a long way to making you look like a real gambler.
