Placed my bet on Le,

got +350 which I'm happy with, let's hope I'm right and his mistakes against Silva were octagon debut nerves.....

This, people love a unbeatable champ, they love the notion of someone being "immortal", like Tyson was in his early days. Though, I don't think this will be the case with MMA, especially with their thin gloves where anyone can get KTFO any given moment.

There's few dudes more likeable than JDS. If he wins 3-4 title defenses in a row he might become a pretty damn big draw if he keeps putting guys away

Re: MMA Thread

I don't think there is anyone more symphathetic than JDS. Cain could be more marketable though to americans, but still JDS catters to all nationalities due to his honesty and just his charismatic persona.

Re: MMA Thread

Ya I think the UFC needs to get behind JDS and push him the way they do Jones. The guy has personality, an extremely exciting style, and he's a HW to top it off. He has definite star potential.

Rich Franklin is going to destroy Cung Le. He's going to be way bigger. Le's chin is mediocre and Franklin hits pretty hard. He could even grapple with him if he wants and he'd have an edge on the floor. Most likely tho he will catch him at some point and Le will fold up shop.

I hope your wrong....

I think Le has the advantage in stand up grappling due to his background so unlikely to hit the mat and his kicks should negate Franklins reach.

He has an extremely original style that few fighters deal with well and I think he was good value at 350. Should be 150-200 in my mind.

Will be a good competitive fight to watch.

Re: MMA Thread

If Lee comes with good cardio he should win, he's the better overall fighter.

Re: MMA Thread

Lee may win the first round but unless he finishes Franklin, Rich is going to take over from the second and probably get a late finish.

I really like Erick Silva at the -155 or whatever he is at the moment, he won't have the size advantage AJ did over Brenneman but unless Brenneman can lnp him for 3 rounds he's going to fold pretty fast when Silva connects with some strikes

Machida -291 should be a lock against Bader too, I guess Machida's chin is the only slight concern but i'd imagine it'll be a one-sided beatdown when Bader can't connect or get the takedown. Might get a better price closer to fight day, who knows. Probably won't hit it hard unless he gets under -250 though

Don't mind Stann at +115 vs Lombard, but admittedly I haven't watched many of Lombard's fights and he doesn't strike me as having Sonnen-esque wrestling and Stann's only really lost to elite wrestlers

Tempted to get on Edgar as well at +140 but I think I might get a better price on him later

Munoz being a dog to Weidman is interesting. They looked to be similar vs common opponent in Maia with Weidman dominating slightly more but i've just been slightly underwhelmed by Weidman so far despite him continuing to win. Feel like it's a hype train waiting to be derailed like Barboza maybe.

Faber's up to +149 vs Barao, i'm a Faber hater but if it gets close to +200 i'll probably take him even though I liked Barao when the line opened, I think Barao is the 2nd best BW in the world after Cruz but we don't know that for sure.

Vera's looked bad lately too but +144 vs Te Huna? Tough one to call there, depends where Vera's mind is at.

Anyone got thoughts on Marquardt -120 vs Woodley? Will he be able to stuff takedowns or not?

Also I wonder what price I can get on Jones finishing Hendo once props come out... i'm definitely done betting against Jones vs anyone other than Machida if Machida's +500 or better, and while Hendo has a legendary chin, I can't help but feel it's going to be a one sided beatdown and he's going to get finished.

This IS jesting right...?

Marquardt should beat Woodley, who looked DREADFUL in his last outing. Literally almost no offense. But who knows what Marq will be like in his first cut...probably worth a bet though. Main concern would be bad judging.

Jones will probably just sub Hendo. Will probably wait for that prop.

Weidman might be worth a bet against Munoz. It will probably be pretty tough for Munoz to take him down and Weidman's standup should be better. I know he looked awful last outing but it was extremely short notice.

Machida should be a lock, no way is Bader connecting with any of those awful haymakers.

Ugh, Rich Franklin is now stepping in to fight Wandy. Can't imagine anyone wanting to pay for this card. Would hope Dana knows to make this one of their free cards.

Ya if this is really a PPV I think we will shortly find out what the true basement number for UFC buys is...

Re: MMA Thread

Franklin opened as a +115 dog, thought he'd be a -130 to -150 fav, anyone else think that's a pretty good price?

Wandy is a favorite in Brazil.

Re: MMA Thread

****, I'm not interested in that fight at all. I wish they only had contender matches as main events.
