^ yep, exactly this.
Nunes
could beat Rousey, but I absolutely agree it's a mistake to say "Holm beat her, and Nunes can do it the same way". I don't recall seeing anything from Nunes that shows she has the skill set required to pull off Holm's successful game plan.
Holm is a dedicated outfighter, and a southpaw. Nunes likes to pressure and come forward... which is what Rousey wants, opponents who come to her. Nunes gave both Tate and McMann the clinch a number of times in their short fights. She gave it to Zingano. She wasn't amazing in scrambles against Zingano either, and her TDD certainly didn't look bulletproof. In fact it looked just plain bad in some points of the Zingano fight. Plus she's an orthodox fighter, which gives Rousey the positions she wants easier than against a southpaw like Holm. And Nunes almost certainly doesn't have the gas tank to
keep moving out of the way like Holm did.
So yeah, Nunes could win this. But the more I think about it, the more I'm not really sure how she'd do it. She's got a puncher's chance obviously... I think she pretty much has to catch Rousey on the feet. She probably needs to do it early before she gasses too... and that has her coming forward swinging from the start, something which didn't work out so well for Rousey's previous opponents.
One thing's for sure, I'd be shocked if she won the same way Holm did.
