See Post #2 for Contests Still Available Even Though Season Has Started

Please help me to build this list. If you know of a 2016 NFL Survivor Pool, Picks Pool, or other type of contest please post short details with link, and I’ll edit that into this opening post.

There are so many of these each year both done by 2+2 members, and elsewhere, that get discussed in a bunch of threads I thought it would be helpful to have this directory. Be advised there are some long running pools that haven’t had a problem thus far. Each year there are others with disputes, escrows running off with cash, etc. It takes nothing to be listed here, these are not recommendations. It is a directory only.

2016 Survivor Pools List By Posters

$40 survivor & $10 Repeat Team ok Zathras & Wubba's King of the Hill Pools - link is to the 2+2 thread. These guys run two different pools, a $40 survivor, and $10 one where can pick any team regardless if you have used them before. You can buy as many entries as you'd like to each. These are local pools where the admins of it know many of the entrants in person, but it has been popular with 2+2ers too who have cashed with them multiple times in recent years. This is the 19th year for the $10 pool. Last year it had 2075 entrants. This is fourth year for the $40 survivor pool which had 195 entrants last year. They have their own software for hosting the pool which is very good.

$10 Survivor Pool by Poster bowlman628 - run on CBS sports.

2016 Survivor Pools by Gambling Sites

Nitrogen Sports Survivor Pools - offers multiple pools. Stakes and Payouts are in Bitcoin. The stakes are: Free, 0.005 BTC, 0.050 BTC, 0.1000 BTC, 0.5000 BTC, 1.000 BTC, 5.000 BTC, 10.000 BTC. Each has a guaranteed prize pool.

Cappers $500 Buy-in Survivor & Cappers $50 Buy-In Survivor - These are all run via their forum instead of using software that hides picks. Picks are made by posting in a thread. The $50 buy-in is standard 100% to survivors. The $500 high roller one has 2 other prizes. $500 is paid to first person eliminated and $500 is paid to runner up. The remainder all goes to the winner.

Sportsbook.ag and skins (ex:CarbonSports) each year have a $100K Survivor Pool Warning this likely has large -EV) - This is often a bad deal because it is a fixed prize pool regardless of entries. The cost to enter is progressive. It starts at $25 for first entry, but can buy multiple and as you buy more they cost less. It cost $280 to get 20 entries (1st 25.00 2nd to 5th 20.00 6th to 10th 15.00 11th to 20th 10.00). They often sell way over $100K in tickets, but pay only this fixed prize. Two seasons ago and prior each skin from this group had their own pool with different prizes. For example Carbon was $15K just with Carbon players. Now it is all the skins together in the same contest, increasing the amount sold. So if they collect $350K in entries it still only pays $100K. The other issue is this group has had gross slow pays, has maximum per payout limits, and charges for payouts. It could take a long time to get out all your winnings if you hit.

Eliminator Pools - Like Survivor Except Can Reuse Teams

$10 Pick a winner to advanced but can reuse teams every week. - Large pool mentioned in first post of this thread.

Freaks Forum 3 and Out - This isn't traditional survivor. Is rather a pick one team against the spread each week (can reuse teams). Once a person has lost 3 times they are out. If it goes to the end it pays out 70% to those with 0 losses, 20% to those with 1 loss, and 10% to those with 2 losses.

Pick Em or Point Spread Pools by Both Posters and Gambling Sites

$25 Pick'em Pool by Poster Toerazo - Uses league safe for payments/payouts and Yahoo software for picks/standings. It is season long. Person who makes the most correct picks wins.

5Dimes.eu runs weekly the type of contest most commonly known as office pools or sheets. They are available for different buy-ins including $10, $25, and $100 with there being a pick'em pool and a point spread pool available for each stake amount.

6th annual Peeps Place NFL contest. This is a $100 buy-in, season long, 5-plays per week using real time Pinnacle odds contest. First 20 entries get a $10 discount making it $200 added by the forum.

16th Annual Bad Man Contest by Freaks Forum - $100 buy-in season long contest where you make 5 picks each week against the spread. There is also a side jackpot available for $50. It is split each week with those who go 5-0. If no one goes 5-0 it rolls over to next week, and week 17 anything remaining in this gets paid out to those with best winning record (ex: if no one goes 5-0, it is split with those going 4-1, etc.)

Cappers Pick 5 - This is a season long $300 buy-in contest where everyone picks 5 teams each week. Last year the prize pool was over $20K, it has grown each year, and this year the buy-in is larger than last year. There is probably a decent chance it exceeds $30K, but to be determined on that.

Pick'em Leagues by Poster Penguin7 - His post reads "I'm setting up 2 pick em leagues with some friends and are open to having as many people as possible so decided to post here. one league will be $50 straight up picks with $2 weekly prize, $5 playoffs, and $11 for the entire season. the next will be against the spread for $100-$200 depending on interest. pm me or post here if interested!"

Too late for much in the above due to the season having already started. I'll keep this thread updated though as I find contest still possible to join during the season.

Second Chance Survivor Pools

Cappers $50 buy-in Second Chance Survivor - They ran a free, $50, and $500 buy-in survivor this season and this second chance one was already planned before the season started. They are already accepting buy-ins and it tentatively starts Week 6. This is ran via their forum instead of using software that hides picks. Picks are made by posting in a thread. It is 100% payout all going to winner.

Non-Survivor

5Dimes.eu runs weekly the type of contest most commonly known as office pools or sheets. They are available for different buy-ins including $10, $25, and $100 with there being a pick'em pool and a point spread pool available for each stake amount. These are 100% payout - no vig to the site.
