I meant payout wise, things are better now. I don't know if you were even around back then, but payouts were routinely 3-4 months at many shops, even the best ones at the time. Checks were slow... bank wires were pretty much non-existent.
Today, the best books (5Dimes, Heritage, Bet Islands, Bookmaker) all will get you checks within 7 business days--- some even 2-3.
Most of those books weren't around... but 5dimes and Heritage have both thrived and gotten better over the last year. Bet Islands has turned into a very solid out for small time bettors over the last year and a half when Jon left WC and took over there.
Yes, there were two huge losses.... WSEX collapsing like they have, and the Olympic Sportsbooks & Matchbook leaving the US last year. But Heritage has stepped in and taken over much of Bet Jamaica's staff, and it shows. They are a must out for any serious bettor in the US, and they are quietly taking big action now (I've gotten down close to 5 figures on single MLB games). Losing Matchbook sucks, but like I said, anyone sharp enough to consistently take advantage of them will find is easy to get a Pinnacle agent anyway.
