lol kinda glad that dude banned himself... but after reading all this was wondering why SBers r so angry and bitter?

is it the screen tan?
or do u think something to do with the subversive nature of SB and hating any authority. (i'm in that 1)
stress?
the competitive nature of SB?

i get that i'm horribly generalising, but it is interesting that AFAIK every mod gets a hard time, yet no 1 wants to join the dark side and actually be a mod...

even Perf wasn't perfect, remember?

i sort of think that somewhere, as a group, we also have to look a little at ourselves and wonder why we get so pissed at such trivial things.

you're a moderator on a sportsbetting forum where there are at least a dozen 1% type posters. when you say, post a positive review of a stealing/thief book, that carries a lot of weight with people that may only be occasional posters.

wiper - It was clearly explained that posting that pic anymore is a permaban because I was sick of dealing with it over and over and over...and there are more mature and productive ways of expressing your opinion without intentionally wasting my time and making me have to do stuff.

For now, I am going to assume their actions were their way of asking to be permabanned and that they knew what they were doing. I did explain it pretty clearly after all. But yes, your scenario isn't impossible. They saw it earlier and thought it was funny...but weren't aware of my post later on when it popped up again.

If they truly were not aware of that previous incident over the holidays and were just posting it without understanding the repercussions then they can contact me or Mat or whoever and ask to be reinstated.

Not a big deal. Apologize for wasting my time and basically saying, "ban me" and I'm perfectly willing to move on and hope they are too. Calm's well had some decent amount of life to it for a little while so I was pretty disappointed that he chose that stupid route to basically accomplish nothing.

In the very least, I hope you understand why I took such actions and felt it necessary to make that rule. It takes times to run around deleting crap. I have better things to do and, honestly, you should too. Purposefully wasting my time because you don't like me or something I did in the forum is not helpful or productive.

it gets a bit confusing sometimes whether or not you want to be involved and liked or just 'the mod', but i'd agree with the above for the most part.

I'm pretty sure a few of the longtime posters don't know posting certain pics would get a permaban, esp for someone who isn't even of SB. They'd have to have read virtually all of MicroBob's posts to know that, which most of us don't do. Obvs now they know.

Aside from that, you're doing a good and thankless job MB.

No it doesn't (it wasn't a review...it was one reference in the middle of a sentence). Because everyone knows it is wrong and it is immediately corrected. No harm. No problem. Nothing happened. I think after you have referenced that issue 10x you could move on by now.

Wiper - No, it's not going to be for ___ days. I stated it pretty clearly and my hunch is that he saw that. If he didn't know what he was really doing in that spot then he can appeal to Mat. Simple.

everyone doesn't though, that's the thing. WE do, regular posters do, but not everyone does.

2. i am being completely honest here: I didn't know that was a perma. ****, i may have even responded in whatever thread that it became a perma, but i don't remember. i will now, but that's only because it became THIS problem. clam deserves another chance.

Well, other posters completely disagree with you.

But to your general point, I've even stopped posting my amateur picks in here (for the most part) partly because I did notice that people seemed to actually operate under the misguided idea that I knew what the heck I was doing.
