forum downtime gave some other people good excuse to disappear and not come back with owing money too

i think the problem is people think people they meet through gambling are their friends and not degenerate gamblers who will get over on you whenever they can

friends in gambling world is just one big long con from both sides

i only skimmed the thread, but I think what happened was:

some guy scams everyone out of balances, sends out empty envelopes, disappears, gets arrested for grand theft

2 guys disappear with money from a pool, one guy loses borrowed money in a HU poker game

then everyone starts saying they're not paying each other because one of those 4 people owe them money so they try to pass off their debt to those people

like person A owes me $X and they scammed me so i'm not paying. debt was sold people don't want to pay because they think they were being free rolled since the scammers never intended to pay, etc.

a lot of it was talked about off the boards so its hard ot know all the details, but i'm guessing one person scammed and everyone didn't want to be the one scammed so they started scamming everyone else

Not 100% sure of these facts but I'm pretty sure this is the story from reading the thread a while ago

-villian wins the hs bowl pickem pool for like 10-20k
-villian asks to start betting in the hs thread.
-villian is asked to escrow 10k to a trusted reg which he does.
-over the next 2-3 months, villian runs very good itt and wins alot of money. Maybe 100k+ maybe more
-villian even goes on to even start autobooking all action at vigfree
-villian wins a little more
-villian starts to lose one week but what he ends up doing is continuing to swap his balance so even if he owed one person money, he would tell the person owing him to send to that other person.
This of course extends his scam and gives him more time to go back to even, scam more. Almost like a ponzi scheme
-villian says he will send money but ends up sending one of the regs a blank envelope with no check enclosed.
-villian disappears.
-hs thread has been a ghosttown since
- I think professorben got burned for 20k,post oak didn't lose anything, a few others lost a bunch.
-thread vouches to catch him but nothing really happens
-2-3 months later he gets arrested for GTA
-not sure what happened now

Overall villian owes 67k or so to the thread.

because he got scammed and then someone gave money he was owed to someone else to settle debts which he didn't think was fair

need a white house petition to bail out the hs poker forum sports bettors

its like the mortgage crisis, people just having fun and not thinking about how structurally sound is this pyramid

some random dude no one knows is auto booking 25k+ a day in bets any side

sounds legit

worse than being scammed by a nigerian in terms of intelligence

Next mortgage bubble, I'm buying a $500k house, taking out 6 mortgages on it [so primary, and then 5 junior ones], and walking away with ~$1.5m regardless of the future of housing prices. And getting the tax deduct to boot.

Yeah, I am kicking myself for not having bought a McMansion. I could be living in a huge house, payment free right now. The banks can't b00t people because then they'd have to actually write down the bad loans and everyone would notice that they are insolvent.

2+2 went down and then I was out of the country for a few weeks so I am not up to date on what the hell is going on with people not paying because they were stiffed by Peter Falcone / limpcallcallfold. I guess I could see that ****storm brewing back when I was paying attention to the offline search for LCCF though.

Another thing to note is that LCCF/Peter Falcone is the same guy who had earlier scammed a 2+2er out of a lot of money.

One more thing... when he was betting he was winning so much from certain people that he was starting to give them REBATES. That stuff was all happening in secret though (he was contacting everyone by phone) so no one had the whole picture until an empty Fedex envelop arrived (I guess he wanted to be able to quote a tracking number, perhaps keep the scam going 24-48 hours more).

oh that guy was scamming covers/donkdown too under a bunch of names using the same scam and he's pretty well known in the casinos here as a scammer

i hardly talk to people and i know about him. someone told me he scammed louie anderson out of 100k

theres a good thread about this on dd. google "peter falcone scammer". 109 pages long but you can skip to page 34 (i think) for the first accusation and then skim everything else that unfolds. the louie anderson story doesnt come in till ~90. but ya the guy sounds like a pos but a pretty epic scam artist.
