How safe are our money in USA Sportsbooks?

When BF happened, it screwed many lives especially those who had a great amount of money on full tilt. I was aware there were people that kept almost everything they had on full tilt and not much in their bank accounts. Well, the thing is I have to start worrying if another black friday might come but this time with sports betting. When the wire act was mentioned, it said it didn't apply to poker so that would mean sites like merge, cake, intertops, minted shouldn't be that worried.

However, I'm pretty sure this would apply to sport betting sites. How safe would you say are our money for sport betting sites that cater to USA players. I have money there but contemplating if i should just withdraw it. For some reason, i'm not worried about bovada because they basically told the government to screw themselves. However, does anyone have an opinion of the other sites like 5dimes, bookmaker and heritage? I had asked heritage if there was a chance they pull out of the usa market and i was told they plan to stay in the usa for a very long time. I know when the greek/betjamaica and matchbook left, that was a big hit for usa players.

Do you guys say the books that caters to USA players are still safe? I mean, if they do a greek/betjamaica thing, obviously that would suck but at least we would get our money back. I know for those with greek/betjamaica accounts, their funds got sent to heritage so if they didn't like it, they could request their balance. The thing that worries me the most is if they pull a full tilt poker/cereus on us which means money gets seized and we might never get our money back. I also have a good amount there but wasn't worried before because i heard governement can't really do anything to sport betting sites as oppose to poker, but after hearing about wire act not applying to poker, this makes me worry as it might be bad for sport betting.

I'm curious but are there any sport bettors who do it for a living in the usa betting online or is it just too hard now. I know back then when one had access to pinnacle, it was much easier. Also, you could scalp like crazy back then but this isn't possible in todays environment for the usa bettor. Also, there aren't any professional books left besides bookmaker for the usa player. Books like 5dimes, heritage and bovada are recreational books and so are most of the lesser known books like betislands and legendz.

Also, i been looking to move to vegas to bet sports and just withdraw everything from online sports accounts because of this reason. Would you say for the usa person who bets sports, vegas is pretty much the only option? I hear a ton of people say if you are going to bet sports, don't bother online and just go to vegas. I know if you are not in the usa, then having to access to books like pinnacle, betfair and greek makes it very easy since you could just bet on computer but for usa players, we don't have that option.

Would like any advice on this. Thanks guys.

What would you say the pros/cons are to Bovada vs. 5dimes vs. Bookmaker for a US player? The lines on Bovada seem ridiculous at most times (juice), so I am thinking about switching but want some opinions before I do.

Isn't heritage probably the safest book of them all?

nothing is 100% safe

you should always have an estimate of accounts receivable uncollectable when in this biz

keep all of them. bovada is worth it for their props alone.

depends on which side you're betting.

i've been on bodog longer than any other book. i can remember playing on bodog during the party poker days. they're legit, your money is as safe there as anywhere.

the dual-line nonsense annoys/pisses me off, but beyond that, bodog definitely has its uses.

Been a reader of the board for a little bit and like the content, figured I would jump on board and post a little. I'm relatively new to the world of sports betting and would like recomendations on which site to use. A friend recommended betonline since that what he uses, but as I have read that doesnt seem to be a popular one with everyone.

Would like some advice...thanks

One would think a reader of the forum would've perused the FAQ at some point, now's your time

I have read the FAQ....I'm not asking questons about how to bet or what to bet. I simply was inquiring into the minds of the veteran posters as to a recomendation on a sportsbook bc from what I read the one I currently use isnt good and if thats the case then I will go in a different direction....thanks for the help

Well then you'd know you should at least preface that info, so you wouldn't get the standard response. Although, the FAQ also addresses where to bet

Best of Luck

Or a reader of this forum would have read 10 other threads the last 2 months asking about it.

You would also know these veteran posters would see through any bull****.

Heritage is probably the most secure book that caters to Americans. 5Dimes is a close 2nd..
