I'd say from a pure class standpoint, it was either ki or sg. I went sg and matt king coal bc I thought he could benefit from slow pace. Also it seems speed does well in small fields where they control the pace (think laoban winning the jim dandy last year).

Hey honcho, random but ims sure you have been to Saratoga to watch or anyone else itt. Anyone give me advice on seating. I've sat in grandstand once and had a great view of final corner and how race unfolded coming down the stretch. Is the clubhouse seating a much better view? Thanks lol.

I go to Saratoga a few times a year. I usually just buy whatever tickets I can find, but usually end up in the picnic area before the races.

Im new to horsebetting other than donking around when waiting for a poker table. can anyone recommend some good books on handicapping or sites, forums, or pros that can be looked into for insight. i kinda realized today that im actually dropping alittle more money in this than i thought and i cant in good conscience keep betting in the dark.

thanks.

Just bet on Songbird next time.
Teach yourself to read and use past performances. There are many out there some free, some expensive - Timeform and DRF are a couple. There is more data associated with horse racing then about any human endeavor. Use them before the races to form wagers and you can usually find a reason that was missed after the races as well.
The betting sites all have their own suite of info and video backtracks that can be accessed as well as deposit bonus. Books ? I've got some dusty ones somewhere I guess. Multi race wagers are lots of fun and frustration if you haven't tried them give a go. GL

I recommend using down the stretch pps (google down the stretch pps) as they are free and provide a ton of good info. I like them more than beyer speed figures as they provide a ton of useful info like running style and track bias info. I would youtube betting strats (how to read a form etc) and maybe pick up a book just to extend your knowledge.

I wouldn't recommend horse racing to anyone except for entertainment value. The takeout is disgusting and multi race wagers can provide a huge payout however are so hard to hit. Its disgusting when you go 3/4 in a pick 4 and lose out on not going deep in 1 race to try to keep ticket cost down.

Finally the best tip i have is bet small. Something i've learned about this game is once you bet big in some races, its hard to take smaller bets seriously. I used to find betting $2-10 exciting, now if I feel good about a race I like to bet big like $50-100 (once in a while, not a weekly thing). It stings when you lose lol and horse racing has shown me there is no such thing as a sure thing.

This is for JK,prickly i guess and just quoted here your last point. I prefer to play smaller i guess because i trust my capping and myself and that is only reason a lot of times. Took advantage of SB yesterday (those legs were shortening up big too at Delaware last 200 yards). I like Equibase PP's and now we have what 4 different products that we use and as prickly said so many bibles to get you to find religion for sure just find the church that fits you best on them. To my point though and maybe try this yourselfs or maybe i am ******ed (plenty of evidence in my post) but i know i know the trainers and who has been hitting from watching daily and my memory so i eliminated PP's from capping and went off straight physicality indications that i look for (yesterdays 1st at Belmont Baby Bears Soup Screeeeaaammed i am the winner in post parade and hit it at 9-1 over short priced fav who if i would of just went off my capping i would of probably singled and looked to spread and catch a price elsewhere. Does nothing for playing exotics i know but tourney play and individual races i have been very successful since i finally trusted myself enough to get off my old way of thinking and trust my eye and what i know. When i cap i already have a preconceived notion of HOW the race should unfold on paper and when watching the races i see what i am looking for by physicality in another outside my capping it creates too much conflict because i trust my eye and capping but the eye tells the truth more than the PP's do. No idea if what i am trying to describe to you is coming across correct i am gifted with the keyboard i know but hope it made some sense. Been working on this for better part of last 16 months keeping track of cap vs eye and a great point by JK it is not there every race for sure. The turf i would prefer to have a little pp info and Maidens are good to catch by eye i still like the %'s and look at this as an angle to grab a price also.

Rumors of Turf and Surf meeting or some chit i hear coming soon Have not been much of So Cal follower except to check results past few months but opening day some of those hats wear the hell out of some women no doubt and worth the gander i am certain.

Gaudet add to NYRA solid move and like i said i can not stand to have the PP's read back to me for 15 minutes but if they insist on doing it that is the optics i want with the noise. This should be a no brainer if your going to keep the same format of reading pp's back to your viewers and no offense but who ya want to hear them from Gaudet and Acacia or Serling and Stabile? Exactly!

Did not get much sleep because i found a sport i thought i only dreamed was real but it is and watched for hours (def beatable too if their is wagering here) it is called Calcio Storico. I was hooked right off and i am dead serious there has to be a way i can get in on this a few times in my life. Def not for everyone i get it but holy chit i love it! Lots of ideas for a team and as a friend mentioned no way i do not rock those pants everywhere too

Look forward to some fun this week with the 2 big openers on each side

Going to be sunny opening day at Toga and very much looking forward to that and i am sure will spend most my attention that way. Hated seeing Ben's Cat is gone this morning. Since i have been in the game he just went hand in hand with Pimlico time and was the type horse all could respect.

Going to be interesting this year up at Toga if they still have the Groom of the Day. Could not believe reading that the backside is 90% illegals? Holy cow man!
Start your business and turn out your product with illegal labor is crazy imo but right in line for this sport no doubt. Had no idea it was this high % just wow.

Taking a look at the hats and woman today at Del Mar since they getting gussied up and all plus i like singing Take me out to old Del Mar at least once.

Going to be at Saratoga saturday for the Diana! For some reason i'm really bullish on dickinson. If he goes off around or higher than his money line of 9/2 and looks good in paddock, prolly going to make him my big bet of day.

Feel dickinson should have won last race but was impeded late and prolly wins if his run isnt stopped. Feel lady eli is a little overrate + lady eli and atonoe will take a lot of money as chad brown turfsters. Thougts? Also feel pace sets up favorable to dickinson if he isn't challenged early or can sit behind semi slow fractions in a small field with not a ton of pace. We will see though, honestly could see antone or eli winning just due to pure class.

Is it a bad sign when castellano or johnny v isn't on a pletcher horse? For example in first maiden win he had saez on his horse and not castellano. I see saez was on horse for 1st start. Just wondering bc I feel jockey not taking a top horse can be a bad sign. Just wondering. Thanks.

Up a little on the day. Had the 4/5 exacta and win ticket in the 7th. Had 4/5/7 Tri and the 2 nipped the 7 at the wire. Would have been a decent size trifecta.

last race here going 10-7-2 and of course the 215 tri box that I literally play in every race.

At the spa now! Gl everyone. Will post my late p4

8- 1.2.5.6.7,10
9-5,2
10-6, 3
11- 5,8,11,12,9,2

72 dollars. Not sure I get through Sanford. Hoping pletcher horsers get a quick pace to run into. Diana is safe I feel. Feel lady Eli stays close to slow pace and prolly wins but I'll hammer Dickerson at a price bc I think race goes to her.

I honestly thought about playing against the bridge jumpers with the arrogate race. Didn't pull trigger sigh. It was funny how a lot of news I followed acted like he was a mortal lock to win.

I'm shocked he lost and in a kinda weak graded race with a small purse. Thought he should have been aimed for the Whitney due to massive prize pool.

Tough game. I didn't see a 23.5 pace in the Diana early on. I thought it was a lock for a super slow pace with no real early speed type horses and such a small field. Great race by lady Eli. Kinda thought she would be sent early also after the way she ran in the past graded stake race at santa Anita(on the front end). Had a big win bet on Dickinson that would have made my day wonderful but didn't get through.

Honestly thinking about taking pick 4s out of my playbook as I burn money with them.
