Look forward to another great day of left turns from our equine pals.
Only made 2 wagers at Del Mar today and both $100 Show wagers on #5 in the 2nd and #7 in the 7th...Latter was 27-1 paid $8.00 to Show...Hope others cashed also on this posted (tip)

Had my first close call with a 5 figure score. Was just having some beers with a friend and having fun doing small stakes stuff on TVG. Threw at bet at the Super high 5 carryover at Hawthorne last night. The 7 clipped the 5 at wire by a head, I had the rest correct. It paid out 40K...

Pentafecta (7-5-8-6-4 $40,610.56)
5 and the 7 were basically same odds. 7 ended up as the fav so just (bad) dumb luck I had them in this order. Also missed a decent tri because the 8 caught the 6 by head. 6 was 66-1.
Maybe the other ticket had 5/7 boxed so the carryover wouldn't have paid out, basically only way I convinced myself to sleep last night.

Wow not bad for a 4 dollar ticket.

Any capping advice for a rainy day at the spa tomorrow? Going up with the family. They take the prelims off the turf if it rains a lot to save for the graded stakes race correct? I assume mto are solid plays if figures fit and the Tomlinson ratings are important to take into account but just wondering if anyone had some solid angles for a rainy day. Never been to the track on a wet day.

Hey room. Not much to say about arlington day. Just a big smile. What i did come to say like a parinoid stoner lol is that i was just seen a wynn sports book future odds for the breeders cup classic 2016. And to my surprise frosted is the favorite right now? Yes hes coming off of 2 good ones after he got back but fav to a horse who beat him in a nutreal spot by 3 min. And he has to travel? And i know she just lost by a head but over beholder as well. Is this a sign vegas says chrome will lose saturday? Am i over thinking this? Am i the only one who thinks chrome and beholder should be favorite or just be happy and find a way to put that bet in? 3/1 4/1 seems about what they will all go off as come holloween anyways but we will see

Agree with you. Think cc will handle track benter at Santa Anita + he already beat frosted this year. Think the 10 furlong distance suits cc more than frosted.

Arlington day was solid. I was at saratoga. Was close to hitting the early pick 4.... Last race of sequence had a horse finish 2nd i believe on a pretty cheap ticket. I hit the late pick 4 even though it was super chalky. I ended up singling sea calisi and the big boss. Went deep in other two races and obv the chalk won.

Can't wait for the travers. Pick 4 could be nice. Think Flintshire is a solid single. Also think a solid price could win travers. Field looks like it could be big. Wouldn't be suprised if creator , destin, Mohaymen win. Think exaggerator will not run as well if it's not raining + don't think he likes track. I felt his trainers/owners wouldn't pick Haskell over the Jim dandy unless like stated they saw a poor run over the track.

I'm still processing that Wynns Breeders Cup Classic future book.

It could just be the result of money going down already on Frosted.

CC inside speed outside hmm...I am of the opinion right now CC is just a seasoned pro and gives a professional effort each out which usually lands him in that circle with cameras and flowers. Dortmund first back showed that heart you love in this horse and may just of needed that one for this one here. Beholder beat by lesser last time and training fine coming into it but i will not be playing her on top on any ticket. Think it comes down to CC and Dortmund again and gut tells me go with CC and class and pro but heart likes me some Dortmund a ton. Should be a good one.

I like converge and songbird as singles in the pick 4 today. Could see songbird hopefully loose on lead. I love the class drop for converge. Horse racing in graded races drops to much easier competition. Horse wins if he brings his A game and has a top jockey on him (love chad brown connection also). I went wide in other two races (used all) so hoping prices come in. Also like cc or dortmund in the pacific classic. Dortmund could be strong in 2nd race back. Cc most likely winner though.

That was easy $$...Beholder i thought was unhappy ears pinned back in post but ran a good race and Dortmund gave his best KYD15 and a horse i like a lot but is just a cut under it appears by my eye anyways. Right now like i said CC is just a MF'er and that is what ya strive to be as a horse in this game.

Lets ask you fellas this you saw Songbird yesterday and CC i would imagine and all things equal on a fair track who gets who say BCC time? Does Songbird's connections even allow this? CC to me just looks like the one to beat come that time even over Frosted. Could be and big Could but could be a tremendous BCC.

CC is one of the best horses I've ever seen. It's a shame he didn't win the Triple Crown.

Sorry honcho. I know u want it bad but not a chance. Songbird was 3 seconds slower at the distance than chrome. And last years breeders was run at 159. Chrome was 200 . Songbird 203. Her beholder stellar wind and east coast fav will make a great distaff.

This weekend to me marked the last of the breeders preps. Classic coming up kinda weak. I feel chrome will handle frosted no problem. Turf coming up juicy with catch a glimpse time and motion found seventh heaven and posponed. Tepin in the mile will get some invaders.
The sprint will be a open race this year. In the fillys juv we will see if stone street will bring lady aurilia or if shes a juv turf sprint. Some matches are shaping up well. Ill have my tix soon. Im not very wise to taking pictures and than loading on here. I might try though.

I know there is still a round of preps before bc weekend but for the most part weve seen competition and whos in.

So you are telling me that the track at Del Mar and the track at Saratoga are the same?
HORSE RACING THREAD Quote
08-23-2016 , 02:46 PM
m sorry sir but I don't know whom u are. so I am not directly telling u anything. what I am saying in this forum is that there was a 3 second difference. that's a lot. if you have read any of my other post recently on songbird than u would know what ive said is she wont be touched by her group unless someone runs a 21 or 22 and 45 46. no chrome didn't go that fast buttttt the fractions were somewhat similar and I'm sorry but songbird is not Rachel Alexandra. not yet. look at the fractions they came home in in the classic. that's older horse speed and power that I don't feel at this time she can match. songbird is great. is she a match for the older males after what u seen from a star like beholder or up and comer like stellar wind? I don't think so. what says you though besides just asking if the tracks are the same? did you have anything to add or did u just have that question?

It's all good.

Enjoy that we have a season, or a few more great seasons to enjoy once in a lifetime horses like chrome and songbird.

The coolest thing I've seen in a long time was chrome taking a look over his shoulder as they straightened out for home in the Pacific.

It's totally amazing to see a horse in the moment like that.

No they are not imo.

Seemed like a straight forward question why you got the response you did is beyond me,welcome to the thread jmg.

I have no interest if it does or does not happen and have made my opinion known about this horses directions prior (not that i expect anyone to scroll back and follow my every word ). Chrome is horse to beat period right now and he is just different than every horse running imo at the moment. With CC he has hit that spot where he is a pro and has his job figured out and enjoys his work and you can count on a professional performance each time out atm with CC. Take a Frosted for example ton of horse and talent and could beat CC if he is on his game that day...That to me is the difference between CC and everyone else you know what your getting now with CC but NOT for sure what you will get from Frosted each time out yet (though he is looking more like a pro each out). Best i know to describe it with my limited vocabulary.

Just a watchin and waitin till Saturday...Take a look at today's carry at Del Mar though.

Prickly what happened to that horse named Happy aka Runhappy...Wasted talent by untalented connections.

Thanks,

I was simply just asking a question. I never compare times at the same distances on seperate tracks.

I agree with the majority in here that California Chrome is the best horse right now (in the world). This horse is simply amazing... Let's just hope Frosted stays healthy and we can see a matchup in the Breeder's Cup Classic.

Songbird vs Beholder in the Distaff would be awesome. I'd still give a slight edge to Beholder at this point just because... Songbird will try and beat up on the boys next year which is fine by me.

As for this weekend. I am super pumped up. The Traver's Day card looks great. Flintshire, Lady Eli's comeback and of course the Traver's. Pletcher better hit the gas if he wants to beat Chad Brown for the trainer's title this week.

Good luck all and hopefully I'll throw out some more thoughts before the races Saturday.

Agree Cali chrome is pretty good. Would have loved to see him go up against american pharoah. Think cc will win classic this year.

Good luck to anyone playing travers day. I think exaggerator doesn't win travers and is easy play against. Lot of speed in travers so I thjnk plays would be destin/Creator. I like destin the most. Not sold on exaggerator on a fast track. The way he goofed in belmont makes me not like his chances. Also the fact his owners avoided an easier race in the Jim
Dandy makes me think he didn't like the toga surface. Flintshire is simple p4 single. Like ap indian/marking in sprint and would go pretty deep in other sprint if I was playing a pick 4.

I'm interested to see how Mohaymen does at 7 furlongs. Think he's prolly a miler like frosted. Finally lady eli at 1/1 is interesting. Great horse and most likely winner but coming off long layoff.... Think playing against her is smart if she goes off around 3/5 which prolly happens. Seems horses coming off layoffs run pretty mediocre.
