Re: HORSE RACING THREAD
Sorry, I don't remember reading anything about cancer in this thread. And sorry to hear about this. My mom had lung cancer and she had successful treatment at Cleveland Clinic. Talking to God will give someone peace of mind.
Wish you all the best!
I'm closest to Mt Pleasant Meadows and probably walked into you at one time or another. I was the guy walking around, talking to himself I used to sit in the dining area and have a beer or two while cashing many huge tickets. Alright, I used to have a beer or two.
Good Luck my Friend!

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD
I've been reworking my handicapping and betting lately. Honestly, I'm a compulsive gambler, but IMO, I sure can handicap the **** out of a race. Unfortunately, i like to bet way more than i like to win. Action seemed always to be more important to me than results. Well, a few months ago, I made a conscious decision to change my ways. I have been only playing a few races here and there, only picking and choosing a few games to bet on a week, trying to "hit singles" in my sports betting, as opposed to swinging for the fences.
With racing, I have taken a more strategic approach to playing the race out in my head and picking who I think will be there at the end. lone speed, speed duel with a deep closer, outside speed, horse rating off of two or three "need the lead" horses, etc.
I fight the urge to dump my bankroll for the "home run" almost everyday, but I am getting better, I tell you. anyway, just love this thread, and I'll be capping SAR pretty hard the next 39 days, hoping the moniker "graveyard for favorites" holds true. my favorite types of bets:
1) pk 4s - most of the time you can get involved at 50cents a combination. some of these pk 4s showing up at DMR lately are SOOOOO "gettable" and their paying $500+!
2) Ex Key Box where I put one key horse (big odds) on top of all, and all horses on top of the key; like to use these in a deep field where I think a few big numbers could hit and not be a shock.
3) Rolling Doubles -- you can predict the odds of the next race, and if your double pays more than the "parlay", boom, there you go... value.
at any rate, I am rambling, but I love the game so much, I just felt like rambling.
Honcho, Kev, SVG, TS, How Cliche, Naj and the rest of the gang..... Get some! Later fellas

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD
Damn Walk, only other person that goes on about that much nonsense is me usually LOL....Being serious though,i was not aware of any of that about you to be honest,i just as you know always single you out as our thread mush, luck you i know, feel like an idiot now doesnt seem as funny knowing your a self claimed degen. As you know im a horse fan 1st,and pass all the time on cards,or forget in the summer here to play,so easy for me to laugh often when i dont have nothing on the line, hope you understand i meant nothing by it.
Looking forward to catching replays this evening,as PTL can attest to freaking Michigan summers are where its at

Invested $78 today, leaving the #10 alone in race 4, even though it looks to be the smart money horse....

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD
Ugh. Still up about $27, but the 3 is paying $1400+ & the 8,9 are paying $6000+, on a $0.50 bet
Not what I expected Rosie to do with the #4, but thats the way it goes...

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD
Alive to the 4 and 6 for $1, alive to the 7 and 9 for 0.50. I stand to make the following if my runners come in.
4- 3808
6- 6930
7- 1931
9- 1519
When I made my ticket, I could have easily hit ALL in the last leg, but I didn't like the 2 or the 3 that much, and thought the other runners had just as good chance with better value. I will not get all bent out of shape if the 2 or the 3 win, because I went with my gut and thoughtfully didn't include them. When we get closer to the race, I may place a win bet on one of them (probably the 3), depending on the odds. Wish me luck.
