American Pharoah raced tons. He is not getting the respect he deserves. That was one of the gutsiest performances I have seen. Hounded the whole way, dug deep and shook up an extremely game Frosted, and just got picked off very late.

Keen Ice sat behind dueling leaders in a mile and a quarter race. If he runs just one length slower, everyone is marveling at just how AP ran one of his greatest races, after traveling back and forth across the country all year long, and not particularly being on his A game on this day. Monster effort. The moment the announcer had Frosted going by, AP had already shook him off and opened up.

The only shocking thing was seeing Lezcano take it to AP the whole race. If Rosario hadn't been injured earlier in the day, Lezcano doesn't get the mount on Frosted, and AP is almost assuredly being hailed as one of the greats of all time, as he would have had the lead all to himself, and likely won by daylight.

Baffert talked to some media on a Periscope this morning from the Toga barn and it sounded like he wouldn't run AP again until the BCC and he would only go there if the horse was perfectly sound and his works were solid.

I watched the race and it was a great one. I was rooting keen ice up since i had him singled in 2nd after i seen rasario fell off of his mount. Glad he is ok. So lezcano gets the mount and rides a different race then rasario has. U can say he rode to win. U can say he rode to get AP beat. He did that but ran his horse to the ground. I dont see frosted doing anything again this year. He did keep AP pinned to the rail which helped ware him down. Now the one thing i did see which had the most to do... after putting away frosted u see espinoza only whip pharoah all the way home. At some point espinoza has to stop whipping and he has to grab the reins and ride. It was like he wanted pharoah to do all the work. Come on victor u have to ride. Here comes the mike smith whispers for the breeders cup classic.

What would you have done if you owned AP? You've said he is done not gonna race at 4. Was place money at Travers worth getting him beat? You know you lost it thru the window anyway. Would you skip Haskell on a do over? Or just fly in earlier and hope.
Me? I'd draw out a 5 year campaign run 4ish 5 times a year.

I think the owners are upset at the moment, but as October draws closer, and the horse is holding his form, a run in the Breeders Cup Classic is inevitable.

Pharoah gets an invite based on merit from the selection committee. Bypasses qualifiers.

There's plenty of time for rest till then, and get some works in company relaxing and rating behind other horses. Maybe they learned a lesson that you just can't expect to secretariat style win every race.

Brilliant ride by the winner.

Do any of you guys bet Del Mar? Curious if a horse has ever won going off at worse than 3-1? Every time I look it's chalk chalk chalk.

Del Mar has had a bunch of long shots this year(and years past). I think that favorites are winning at a pretty low 27% or something last I checked

Obv looking for a bigger payout but these are for myself bread and butter plays...$22 invest x5 $110 total for about $700 return if it hits so 7/1 on exactly as JKpoker described a very easy PK4 to hit. Had a convo with Jeremy Plonk one night because he also makes similar plays as myself and told him i want to drink champagne everytime for certain but sometimes the card is just offering snapple so you drink what they are offering. Bought the 8th (11 horses) and hit the #11 at 11-1 over a 16-1 if memory serves.

1.) 7-3-6
2.) 2-5-4
3.) 2-3-5

6.) 8-1-3
7.) 2-1-7

Very tough card again at Toga today with 3-6 imo being the most wide open.

Capped today's PK6 2 day carry at Toga and i will be damned if i can figure it out. This is as tough a sequence as i have saw in some time imo. Best of luck if your playing today.

Judging by the results from yesterday, it looks like anything can happen. I am surprised someone actually got 5 out of 6.

Go Garnet and Gold.

Loved seeing that yesterday at Saratoga. Glorious. Didn't hit anything but had 3/4 on that 55k pick 4. Lost the first leg. Was 2/3 on tri's and 3/4 on supers all day, but I like seeing those prices.

It was 4/6. A pick 3 in the middle had to be some kind of record pay. Well put Honcho, what the hell...and throw in the wet.

Glad to see florent geroux on juicy mounts at kentucky downs. Juicy purses, good mounts and grass competition against kerian fallen and julien leperoux.

What has happened to Leperoux the past couple years? Seems like he has been getting decent mounts, maybe I have just missed the ones that he has won.

I got Funky Monkey Fever here in the 8th at Toga. Lot of exotics with this horse singled up top.

It's Tonasah (7/2 ML) in the Spinaway today at Spa race 9 post time 5:11 pm.

Did some homework on Brisnet and Bloodhorse, and Paulick Report including her replays, and she's my pick. Pletcher has based her at the Spa since May / June, Blinkers off, Pletcher making bigger plans for Rachel's Valentina. But today It's Tonasah.

GL to everyone this weekend.
