I had the Pick 4 on Saturday into a singled AP for a nice $4,595. That was an awesome sweat. I woke up the next morning and started thinking and realized I had the winner in the two races prior. Looked it up and the Pick 6 paid $129,318. Then hit the bet calculator to see how much that bet would have cost with who I liked and it was $600. Which I would have never bet. Made me feel better...kinda.

That's like when Allen Iverson officially retired from basketball in 2013. Nobody gave a ****. He was two years removed from the sport. The sport goes on.

Doesn't get much better than sweating a live pick 5 or 6. Constructing tickets cost is everything. Get what you want and don't overpay. Use a bet calculator like equibase practice.
Good advice. I was using the ticketmaker at DRF the last few weeks to see if it helped me construct more roi plays and i found i do it about right without it in my head. I like the different options that DRF has for Formulator but i still use Brisnet because i can find the same deep stats that a math masochist like me likes When you read PP's for fun you isnt right

Toga is a sob and even more so constructing exotics because it is hard enough to figure out 1 damn race let alone string a few together but Toga will pay well when your darts are right.

Liked GoGo too but B3 said it how i see it too...I woke up one day and Barry Sanders retired too and the Lions still played...well kinda Wish him the best he was a talented rider when riding.

Holy cow fellas i just heard Mr Z on Byk say AP was all our horse not just his but all the fans...How do we go about collecting some of the TC $$ now that we are all part owners? Ahh thanks anyways

So you play $2 pick 4's but don't play $2 pick 6's? I could see you being mad about not hitting the pick 6 if you played 50 cent pick 4's but if you're playing $2 pick 4's and would of hit the pick 6 on a $600 ticket I would be pissed. Hitting the pick 6 on a $600 ticket is damn near impossible especially on Belmont Day and that's with a 3/5 shot winning the last leg.

The Pick 4 was not very spread. Only a $36 ticket.

$575 for a Pick 6 is just not in my gambling budget. I would have had to go four deep on the earlier two races to get the winner.

I have only started playing the Pick 4s & Pick 3s the past few years when there was a huge favorite on one of the major days in the last leg to get some value out of the race.

It's not my usual bets though I've been thinking about playing some .50 4s & 6s when there are some bigger pools.

For a pick 6 I could have singled the last 3 legs, but the first three would have cost me a decent amount. Didn't even occur to me to play a pick 3 or pick 4.

So does a $10 Pick 3 cost $30 if you single a horse in all 3 races or does it cost $10?

$10... You're not multiplying anything.

I guess I could add this. For me the value of identifying a horse like Slumber for the purpose of a pick 6 doesn't translate the same as it does for a win place bet. The counter intuitiveness of singling him there is human nature. You spend to get to that point alive you multiply to get cost but there is also a multiply factor in the anxiety of the thing from mud on face aspect. So it's default to land on a more formful consistent accomplished horse. My Ticket went 2x3x3x3x1x1 which had it hit prolly woulda paid 6-9k maybe and money back 5/6. Effinex bolted to the bus stop and lost a nose with VE. Almost with BBk.
I guess point is if Slumber is a horse I "love" it still may not translate to a single there. Meaning the whole ticket gets redone. Then I lose in a different spot because Filimbi and Lady Lara were AB for me. Lady Lara was my slumber from ml perspective. She had a monster looking strech drive at Bel prior against lesser so that was my angle.
But then again I may have gone ahead and singled Slumber because it's a play to win type move.
I think I'll take up win bets...getting too old.

Well bbb. I dont know what crawled up your ass but its not like that at all. See gomez to me waz one of the best. Hes one of the reasons ipay attention to the sport. Hes the reason i got into the sport in the first place. The pic i have together in the winners circle after a race with a young boy i work with with autism, it means something. Studying the way he raced with certain horses, certain styles on certain surfaces, it mattered. The money ive made from betting him matters. The pic i have with him pacific classic day 13, where he went to east coast, had his last stumble and only races back here after for a week. It matters. Oh yeah hes a human. And my human nature is chill. Irie. Respectful. So a life matters to me and others. Yes the game goes on heros live forever, legends never die. Gomez was castellano before castellano. Gomez rode the father of the triple crown and if he didnt fall off the wagon it would of been his mount.

Beholder gomez, blame. Gomez new years day breeders cup winner was gomez garcia got him from baffert after gomez gone. The late great bobby frankel (whom i guess u just dismiss as well) his go to rider before his passing. Gomez. enough said i think... your the king gomez

Hey SGV i think you are def a GoGo fan and nothing wrong with that and there is something in the sport everyone takes personal it is all good i think B3 just sees it different which is fine too. I got my start in the game by watching GoGo take Rags to Riches home in the Las Virgenes stakes in 07 after going 12 wide.

I will give you my take of GoGo. I was a huge fan as well but i saw him let his game go and it happened imo after the Lookin at Lucky ride he tried to take him inside on the far turn and i believe it was VE who shut the door on him and he had to pull up and lost all chance forget the race name. He went ape chit after the race on VE but BB was having none of it and took him off LAL.

Then GoGo gets Blame home on top in the BCC doing the unthinkable and beating Big Z and not a single person gave a chit about his ride or performance outside of the connections he rode for. Everyone was talking and still does about how Big Z almost got there and Blame is known now as a decent sire and a footnote to who beat Big Z in the BCC. I do not thiink GoGo felt he got respected or the respect he deserved and it showed in his mounts after for 6 months till his end of riding career.

I see him announce his retirement the same week as a TC winner too imo to grab himself a little more what about me time and the only reason i even know he wrote a book with anyone. He had issues with alcohol and his marriage and felt like he was not being the parent he ought and wanted to be so he made the decision he did. Just my opinion though on GoGo.
All the reason you mentioned and the work you do with autism is great SGV and i hope you keep it up and understand B3 obv could not of had any clue about any of that stuff. Be well SGV look for you around the thread.

Nothing crawled up my ass. You said, "To me Gomez was one of the best". That's your opinion. The guy is two years removed from his last mount. Life goes on. He's been retired...This wasn't any type of news. Iverson is probably pound for pound my favorite athlete of all time. When he retired 2 years after the last time he walked on an NBA court... I didn't care. His career was over. Just as Gomez' has been.

Your personal pictures and why you like someone is up to you. You can like whoever you want why ever you want. That doesn't make a retirement statement that comes two years too late all of a sudden relevant or a jockey the best ever.

This is horse racing... Of course I only care about money. How many people lose wagers here due to a bad ride by a jock and say "well that's okay because that jockey took a picture with an autistic kid last week?" NOBODY... Not one person in this world says that. Jockeys get paid for what they do. You're acting like everyone associated in horse racing is doing it pro bono. It's their profession from the grooms all the way up to the owner. Everyone is paid. If they weren't being paid, they wouldn't be involved.

price on beholder in the 8th at SA? hoping that warren's veneda keeps price somewhat reasonable. if so going big, can't see her losing at 1 1/16m at SA.

well 1/5 was a bit annoying but warren's veneda took action so hard to complain too much, although 2/5 or 1/2 would have been gravy. only put a few bucks on her so i made some lunch money rather than dinner and drinks.
