I said back about a month ago i did not like SB at CT and did not see it as a good fit and def not patting myself on the back being right and hope SB is fine...(Been nice to of had exchange wagering though huh?) I caught a few of the comments on Bloodhorse and was surprised so many gave Mike Smith so much chit for pulling him up. I remembered i called him corky one time all hot headed after what i thought was a poor ride but imo he is one of the stand up guys and riders in the game. I am of the opinion SB did not like the track,and my reasoning was you take a horse out of SoCal who is JUST learning to handle turns now ask him to make 3 good ones with speed...easy fade imo...Anyways i believe Mike knows SB is not taking to the track and he knows SB was still going to try and win and Mike sided on the side of caution and he will never get his lunch eaten for that decision,but by the horseplayers for sure we are hot headed maroons but the people with the investment in the horse appreciate the decision.

Had a hell of a couple days and problems eating but going to try and get some capping done tonight and have a few plays for tomorrow.

Coz was an easier fade if you get the workout reports.

I will continue a new tradition this year - the last Saturday in April at Churchill Downs. It beats the hell out of fighting the crowds on the first Saturday in May. Any 'capping advice appreciated. Anybody going to be there let's get a bourbon!

Looks like a tough card today at SA.

Thoughts on my likely to finish in top 3 of KD? Took part of a twinspires promo and can split a portion of $10k if I hit a show bet on the KD. I think Dortmund is probably best bet as I think hes consistent and most likely to finish in top 3. I know a lot depends on post but just wondering what others thought.

Also am I crazy to like AP so much? 3 G1 wins and the horse hasn't even been whipped. Am I taking this point too far. Seems like he has always had some left in the tank at the end of the race. In the Arkansas derby, doesn't even look like jockey was even driving late down the stretch and he still win by 8+ lengths. I think AP wins as long as he doesn't get into a speed duel early or somehow has a troubled trip.

Well sounds like you got a good idea on how you see it JK and when it comes time to plunge in a week trust your own opinions and own gut and eyes i know this because the $$ is coming out of your wallet and obv best of luck to you.

I listen to Byk 9-12 am est daily but come this week i will not tune in even one time. The reason is i do respect his insight and a lot of the guest he has but i do not want to hear anyone else's opinion at all this week. The voices in my own head are going to win or lose me cash not any one else's i know this! I know where to get the info i need for the week and am going to flat out get the F after it starting later today and Oaks/Derby Day no tourney just straight pools and dutching.

Once they draw for KYD i will smoke the pipe and see what the stars tell me and give the way i see it playing out myself.

I know this thread is very US centered but the retiral of the great UK and Ireland jump jockey, A P McCoy, surely deserves a mention.

Its unlikely anyone will surpass his 20 jockey championships and more than 4,300 winners from 16,000+ rides.

honcho I love that advice and thinking lol hope you have been feeling well. jkpoker you made it that far, you know what to do. were all just waiting for the post positions to fall in place. of course we will punch in what we feel when its money time but I never min hearinf from different people from different part o the country to hear what they have to say. it would be kool if we came up with a day and time after post to just talk derby.. oaks and undercard races we might have something to say about. anyways have a good one all.

I know i come off gifted typing that is for sure but i do like the idea of an HRT pow wow and i will make myself available for that all Wed eve for sure.
