ahaha ty! lame i know, but if i played a $200 ticket like a week after swearing off any more plays i think that would make me an official degenerate.
thought about driving to SA today because it's a great day (excellent reprieve after weeks of rain and cold... was in the 30's one night!), but had to get a tire fixed. what are the odds of running over a nail twice in a span of four months? prolly better than me ever hitting a p6.

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD
Haven't been following thread much lately, as I haven't played much horses since late fall. But, have a little story to tell from today that thought you guys might like.
Was in St Louis with a friend who had to be there for a conference, so with a free hotel room for a couple days, and a chance to play some live pokers and hit up the track as well, this was a no brainer. Oh, and free food every day was also pretty cool.
Ok, so today we head over to Fairmount Park outside of St Louis on Illinois side - Collinsville - it is pretty much a ****hole btw - but whatever, we aren't there for the scenery so to speak. I am mostly betting Oaklawn, and I find a few sequences where I think I've got some easy singles for pick 3s, hit one for $120, hit a smallish tri, and an exacta, and am playing a few of the pick 3s. Get almost to the start of race 6, and I really liked the 4 here, although I also backed him with the 9. I realize I didn't look at race 8 for the pick 3. I look at it, and I'm like wow #1 animal looks strong - post 1, solid starts, strong beyer edge, wtf put this in. I look at the board and they're going to post jeeeeeeeesus. Run to the auto-tote, punch in my $1 pick 3 sequence 4/9 - 5/11 - 8. Run back to my seat and the race is going off. Look at my ticket and realize WTF - I put down horse 8 in race 8 because I'm thinking the number 8, not horse 1 JFC aljfladfjalsjfkdjklakfj.
Well, my 4 horse rolls, horse 11 wins by a head, and my buddy had already said we need to get going. I'm like ok, lets go. This ticket is a lost cause anyway. I had already showed him what had happened, this 8 horse although had some ability, the last race was absolutely awful, and just didn't look as though he matched in this spot. We left for home, on the ride home, we talked about it a few times, he told me he felt good about it, and did I really want a horse that opened at 4-5 on the board anyway? Why not root for a big score with my 11-1 longdong? I said, I'll sell you this ticket for $1 if you're so sure - he looks at me and LOLs and says no thanks.
I get home, look up the chart, BOOM #8 caught the leader at the wire and won by a length - $1 pick 3 paid $508 weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
I called my buddy, obv we LOLd for a while, and this was the best misclick I ever made
Cliffs:
TL;dr
visited St Louis
went to Fairmount
place is a ****hole
misclick singled a horse that went off at 17-1 in a pick 3 - oh and horse I liked finished up the track...a ways lol
he won and paid $508
ship the chips
now have an excuse to go back to St Louis and donk my $500 win in a circuit event
have a great weekend

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD
CD99 love the story my man glad to see you around....Still no excuse to not follow the thread though .....I remember Kev saying when we 1st started this thread a couple years back that he always buys mispunched tickets, but heck ya tear it up in St Louis. My wife use to go to St louis often, and will include a link for some pie they swear by around those parts... http://www.pointersdelivery.com/
As for the ? on better value for GP or SA,and not to be a smart-A,but no idea which would be greater value without knowing which horses you like. I know GP has larger fields than SA,and maybe take a quick glance at eachs ML to see,but honestly without capping both then looking at your picks compared to the ML's to each track its impossible to answer your ?.....BUT my answer is always this, who cares what anyone else thinks, its your $$,and if you see value be confident and wager accordingly, and GL.

Re: HORSE RACING THREAD
I think i have a good one for tomorrow; i've been waiting for this filly to run back for several weeks now. I was planning to post in the morning like i usually do, but unfortunately Brad Free had to tell the entire world in his DRF analysis, so i might as well do it now. Here's what i wrote about her in my "Horses to Watch" thread on HRT about a month ago.
Pink Blanket (2/4 @ SA, Race 4)
Hugely impressive performance by this first-time starter yesterday. He completely blew the start (looked like he hit the side of the gate coming out) to be off several lengths last, but then rushed up almost immediately to pass the entire herd and challenge the loose frontrunner who had gotten clear. Put that one away into the stretch and started to open up, while i basically just sat there in amazement, thinking holy-****, he's gonna win this race anyway! It wasn't to be though, as a Kory Owens firster came and got him late, but he was well-clear for second and obviously would've won with ease if not for the starting gate mishap. Today's race was 5 1/2 furlongs, i'd like to see him stay short next time, but this horse can run. Figures tough to stop when run back, quite possibly on a class-jump (this one was a MCL75).
I guess i must've overlooked the fact that he's actually a she, but anyway, she's entered in tomorrow's first race @ 3/1 ml. Not the morning line favorite either, which is nice. Also, something i didn't know at the time, she was actually claimed out of her debut, which is always an extemely positive sign. Especially when the trainer claims the horse for HIMSELF, as is the case here. Impossible not to like this one.

Excellent eye,and write up DC. I remembered this race right off myself, and thought similar to yourself. Honestly the only reason i keep a virtual stable anymore is to remind me WHEN they run back,i usually always remember what i see. Done capping myself, waiting for the changes before i post. I am looking forward to a great race day later today from coast to coast.

+1,Agree.....But i like going the other way myself in these situations, but UM is about as safe a BJ maybe as there has been so far this racing yr,so i have to pass and watch as a fan today because i dont think he loses.
Like to see you around more ND,always respect your insight.
