Walk, Trumpet Player Jay entered in the 4th tomorrow at SA (#2 horse),looks to be a tough spot with a seasoned solid field, but i do like the distance for him and the 1 turn.

Also jealous i will not get,she was always out of my league

That doesn't make it any easier right now but I'm sure it will. To all you younger guys, love your mother with all your heart, no matter what happens because once she's gone there is a hole in your heart that can never be filled. Sorry for rambling and thanks for the chance to spew a little. Best of luck to all you guys. Derby is right around the corner and I hope your cashin , not trashin. peace
Sorry Simon.. all I can say is to be thankful you had her for so long and you had a relationship with her. My mother is still with us but, she did not do right by me and we are not very close. She is trying to be close now but, I keep her at arms length. She's HIV+ over 20 years now and when she passes, all she will be is an expense. I know that sounds harsh but, I say it cause its true and I'm illustrating a point. You were/are blessed.

RIP Simon's mom

Thanks guys, it really does mean alot. Kev, I truly am sorry for your situation. Of course I realize there are exceptions to everything. There are major indiscretions that can't be forgiven or are alot harder to forgive, I was more speaking to the petty things that people sometimes let interfere with relationships with loved ones. All kids at one time or another think their parents are pricks, I'm sure my kids think that about me sometimes, but a mother's love is most times something that is irreplaceable. peace.

My prayers will be with you, Simon. I know what it is like to lose a parent. Regardless of what stage of life you are in, it is a trying and difficult experience.

Found a good post today by Brad Free that explains exactly the type of plays i make, just never really understood how to explain them. Being a fan,and a decent memory,i just see things that seem like they happen like a pattern so to speak, and when i recognize this, knowing the math (have to know the math) the odds, and a short field, these are excellent risk vs reward situations i try to exploit,Brad just explains it better, and it was cool to see someone explain what i am seeing to myself.http://www.drf.com/blogs/surprise-jackpot

I've noticed this a few times in my handicapping by accident. The last time it happened to me was a freak accident at a harness track a couple seasons ago. The concept is so simple, but so many people don't understand how to spot it, yet it gives the observant handicapper a huge edge. Thanks for sharing, Honcho!

Thanks guys, but i have to give Brad all the credit here,he explained it well i thought also. Like i said several times,i have no real formal handicap training so to speak,so finding out these plays have names was cool to me too. I thought Kev really illustrated it perfect with his charts, its easier to see it in black and white as to try and verbally explain it,thanks Kev! And,no i didnt see GG,i dont follow their pools but rarely, usually big days,or the Magna 5,but this gives me a reason to take a glance. I saw SA like i said, but got sidetracked which often happens and missed the rest of the card till replay this morning.

Was a nice run by Dialed In,glad there was no traffic for him, because that would of been messy because he wasnt stopping. Was the best of that field by far, nice one DC.

Reba Is Tops won her final race, the Wishing Well Stakes at Santa Anita. By doing so the Washington Bred Mare improved to a career earnings of 450k, and moved up to 12th on the all time washington bred money list. She hit the board in 24 of 29 races, and won 14 of those starts. She won stakes at three different California tracks. Predominately a turf horse she will be bred to Broken Vow. With a quick look at his progeny it appears Broken Vow can produce some good turf performers.

ah, didn't realize you posted the picks. I played these too. I am off work today due to weather, so I removed my horse betting hiatus.

I don't want to past post, but whatever...

I am alive to the 2 and the 9 for the .50 pk4 at gulfstream.

played a $5 ex 5,11/2,5,9,11 for a little saver...

let's see how we do.

p.s. I singled Bravo in the 6th

Very nice single, Walk.

Didn't think blinkers would make THAT much of a difference!

Bombs away in the finale for a $4k+ payout, too bad you couldn't snatch it up.

And of course Aqueduct is postponed yet again. Does anyone know what happens to the cards of the skipped races? Are these races just cancelled? or do they get rescheduled?

I know I am posting this after the first race, but I wanted to see what everyone thought about my Pk6 wager at Gulfstream for today.

4.) 4-5-7
5.) 3-12
6,) 9-12
7.) 3-10
8.) 2-4
9.) 9

$0.10 Pk6 = $4.80

I haven't posted my picks here before, but I do want to become a better handicapper, so any thoughts are most welcome!

My 2 biggest wagering days have always been Sat,Sun,and have been my most profitable....That said,i will NOT for the rest of the SA meet wager on these 2 days there. I have always been a person to put up or shut up,so this is my put up until they change the takeout in SoCal,or remove the imbeciles that currently make up the CA Horse Racing Commision. It is us the fan's,horse cappers/wagerers that give you your job,and your greed and political posturing has no place in this sport. So either CA Horse Racing Commision people pull your head out of your backsides, and open your eyes and ears to the environment of the racing community right now,or face having your job being gelded by your own arrogance.
Well this is the 1st time i have quoted one of my own post, and i dont plan on doing that often thank goodness right, but i believe this is an important issue,i have made my stance on it,as have several others, and its getting noticed by the people who count the numbers boys.......http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-raci...organizer-says

Also i just cant bring myself around to wager at Gulfstream right now. It is a sister track to SA,but my issue is with an individual who is allowed to play in their poker room. I never lost a dime and never ever played at UB/AP ever,i dont know personaly any one of the pro's that the cheating affected 1st hand at all,but many a 2+2er busted their butt to expose the mess, and several of the affected pro's are poster in the 2+2 community, and because of that i choose not to invest any of my money with them at this point.
