Giants future bet

I have a futures bet on the Giants winning the Superbowl at 50 to 1. I have $200 on it to win 10k. I havent hedged at all so far. How much would you guys hedge on this weeks game? The 49ers are -130 this week.

I am thinking about putting $1300 to win 1K this week. Then if the Ravens win that is obviously better for me. How much would I put on the Pats in the SB if they win? They will be around -170 I am guessing. Thanks alot.

Re: Giants future bet

Maybe I'm missing something, but why hedge it at this point w/ the ravens when we're a week away from the SB and you have a 50/1 on the giants?
Plus If I was to hedge, wouldn't it make more sense to try to hedge w/ SF this week instead OR hedge the SB if the giants make it more so than Bal this week and/or both?

Again, I'm a relative newb so my analysis may be completely incorrect here but I don't understand the emphasis on hedging with Baltimore in the championship game when you have no protection on the nfc game and SB regardless.

I hope someone can explain the holes in my opinion because I'm always looking to learn

Thanks, GL

I think he means IF NYG wins this week. Ravens would indeed be a better opponent since Giants won't be as big of dogs (maybe not even dogs) so hedging would be less expensive.

Re: Giants future bet

yeah sure bet 1300 or maybe 1950 on the 9ers moneyline -130 and take it from there. can pretty much guarantee yourself a nice profit on this no matter what.

I am talking about hedging the 49ers for $1300 and am talking about if the Ravens beat NE and go to the Superbowl. That would be better because it would be a close spread where if they Pats win that spread will be close to -7 probably. Sorry for the confusion.

Re: Giants future bet

I think that the Pats win the game against the Ravens 80% of the time.

Re: Giants future bet

Giants will most likely win Id give them at minimum 80% in this game. I just don't see 5 turnovers again for the 49ers to beat a far superior team. However saying that its obviously all about how much risk you'd like to take. 2600 on the niners might even be better but hell if it were me id let the entire thing ride. Might even bet the about 2k on the Patriots to win the superbowl instead of hedging against the niners.

Oh ok gotcha.

So lets go niners ML this week and if the Giants win, hedge w/ AFC in the SB.

Some of the more experienced guys can help here but isn't this pretty much the only common sense play?

fwiw, I can't imagine anyone realistically having more than 55% at most on this nfc championship...Just my opinion and I'm a Giants homer.

Re: Giants future bet

id def hedge this week on the 49ers ml, but i would also do future bet for pats to win SB, i got them at even money right now.

so if niners win this week u win whatever u bet there + freerolling the pats to win sb. if giants win this week and so do the pats, u r freerolling the sb game. if giants and ravens win (least likely scenerio) then just throw some money on the ravens in the sb.

didnt do math on it but this might be way to go.

Re: Giants future bet

damn, NYG was +5000 at the beginning of the season? That sounds like crazy odds.

For my sake and yours, I hope both the Giants and Pats win this week because I have a NE Futures bet of $100 @ +600, and I hate NE with every fiber of my body. I plan on freerolling and betting $600 ML on whoever comes out of the NFC.

Re: Giants future bet

I have futures on both the 49ers (to win 20u) and Giants (to win 33u) if either win the superbowl.

I sure hope one of em does
