Hey guys I was curious if anyone here ever bet on this kind of prop and if so maybe you could help me find a few places to read up on movie total forecasts and other sites for research.
If I remember correctly there is a site(intrade maybe) where you can trade futures and those lines seem to be pretty sharp.

A local book puts out some of these and they are not very sharp at all at times.
Two that I can remember: they opened Skyfall at $70m and I think it did nearly $90m and opened Hobbit at like $141m and it did around $85m.

really I am looking for prediction sites AND trading sites that have sharp ish lines and of course posters who are familiar with this kind of betting.
seems like a large gap for the Hobbit. Someone forgot to do their homework that week.

Well they were going LoTR3 which did like $143m I think. Obviously that was a pretty shortsighted way to set that line.

after a little research I believe this 18 mil for haunted house looks high, any thoughts?
do you know of any sites like intrade where I can get a feel for the proper line fro box office returns?
