I am a newb to sports betting. I have read the faq and most of the links attached to it. I just got Wong's book in the mail today. I have bet baseball before. I am most interested in learning to bet NFL. I don't have a lot of money to start with ($100.) My plan is to split this up between two books so I can start to learn to line shop (on a micro level.) I will also be looking for Wong Teasers. As more funds become available I will open up at other books also but to start I will just have enough for two books. My question to you is: If you were to do the same thing I am trying to do what two books would you start with? I have a few in mind but I wanted to see what you more experienced players thought. I would obviously prefer it to be a book that allows $1 bets since I am low on the cash flow. Oh yeah, I am a US player. Thanks.

matchbook and 5 Dimes would be my two choices. I'll be in Lincoln tomorrow.

Instead of books, search around this/other forums a little bit. You will find some great information from some very smart people. Read the Well series of threads listed in the FAQ. Better than any book IMO

Thanks for the advice. I was planning on doing both. You are right, I have been learning quite a bit from reading this forum. I plan on diving into the well posts this weekend.

Eating up +25 is pretty freaking comical. Parlaying it with U/56 is borderline absurd.

I don't think I've ever used an online book that allows less than $5 bets. Just save up some money until you have 1000 or so and divide that between a few books imo.

I have done some research and there are major books that take $1 bets. I have $100 right now, so why not make the small bets while I am learning instead of trying to learn without the practice while I am saving up the $1000?
