Im in canada and have access to pinnacle, matchbook and any other sportsbook that non usa users could play on. I have been in vegas few times already. I spoke to a guy who arbs and does bonuswhoring for a living in canada but he told me that is coming to an end with skrill no longer allowing gambling transactions for canadians.
I know that in vegas, most of their lines are in general vanilla. However, i had noticed that you could basically arb quite a few amount of games. For example, superbowl most books in vegas had +2.5 Even with seattle whereas offshore had it -2. You could actually bet -2 Even money after commission on matchbook on denver and if you bet on seattle +2.5 Even, you would have a freeroll if denver wins by exactly 2. They also had seattle +125ML whereas you could bet -118 on Matchbook denver so you are arbing risk free money. I spoke to the guy who arbs/bonuswhore for living and he said in big events like the superbowl... the dream situation would be to bet in vegas and bet on the phone in pinnacle/matchbook... of course that cannot be done because you cant use it in the usa.
1. I wanted to know are there ppl that have friends/runners in vegas that they tell them what to bet on and then they bet on matchbook/pinnacle to arb? Or is it not worth it b/c the arbs would be very little profit? For example, i spoke with someone here who is in vegas and i asked him if what the current odds i see are true for cantor and stations apps and he told me yep. He mentioned how the bobcats when facing the lakers were +180ML... this is when pinncle had lakers -140ml... so obviously you could arb it for risk free money and bet whatever max is allowed.
2. However... in situations like this... is the right thing to do always bet the soft side and never arb? Because if pinnacle has -140ml lakers and +130 bobcats... and a vegas book has bobcats +180 the soft side is bobcats.
I spoken to someone else who also arbs for a living and he said he does arb but he would not arb that much b/c in this example the off number has a lot of value and you are throwing out the value by arbing.
3. Another thing is i noticed a lot of lines especially totals are off by 1-2 points when comparing pinnacle lines with vegas books for nba games. I seen many games where the total is 207 at pinnacle and in wynn or caesars it would be 208.5 or even 209. If you beat pinnacle current line... i know that is very good. But in a situation like this... isn't it always +EV if you see a number that is off by 1.5 or 2 points bet it? I know totals are not as crucial as sides as the value of a half point isn't that important like a side... but how much points does a total for nba have to off by for it to be +EV?
Because if pinnacle has 193 under -110 and you see wynn has 194.5 at -110, isn't this an auto bet? I spoke with others who said if you bet every off number such as if pinnacle and every book has a team -8 and a book offers you +8.5, bet it without thinking because over hundreds of games.. you will have those few games where that half or 1 point will count.
The reason why i ask these questions is b/c i have a friend in vegas that lives there and im thinking about just asking him to open a cantor, stations and will hill account so then i could tell him what to bet. Is that good/bad idea? Because i do see some off numbers there when checking out pregame.odds and vegasinsider. The other thing is i know most of these off numbers are at mgm, wynn, caesars so he wouldnt be able to bet it b/c he likes to stay at home a lot so obviously the apps would be the only way.
