With soo much time until payoff, a solid bond investment might have a higher expected yield. I like your pick though.

Their pitching is vastly underrated. They lost Gio Fernandez, a good underrated arm, but picked up Bartolo Colon who should love pitching in Oakland, a real pitcher's park with a wide foul ball area.

For the sake of your bet hopefully Dallas Braden returns to full form from his shoulder surgery. If soo he will make up a helluva 1-2 pitching punch with McCarthy who closed out the season strong (I remember riding him and under late in season). Anderson's return from Tommy John is also important, but pitching shouldn't be their issue.

Their real need is offensive obviously. Cespedes should definitely add some much needed production 20-30 HR should easily be within reach for him. That will mean alot for a team who was so desperately in need of a punch last season. Oakland is usually overlooked by their hometown fans even. I think they go over here usually, GL.

well yeah, you've hit the nail on the head there e c, that 72.5 total is a huge overaction to the pitcher situation. sure they're in transition with an eye on 2015 and possibly moving to san jose? but i'm sure billy's got a few suprises in the pipeline, along with cespedes to get them closer to 80 than 70 wins,

i think that the Red Sox & Marlins going over are good bets

Red Sox looks a little low at 87.5 & Marlins should be much improved & give the other teams in their division more trouble than usual

To play devils advocate...Colon was pretty terrible in the 2nd half of last year and saw his velocity take a hit as the season wore on. Cespedes is no guarantee to be in the everyday lineup from day 1 as they have 5 OF's. Although a healthy 2nd half from Brett Anderson would help most of that.

Expecting repeated performance 200+ innings from Halladay/Lee/Hamels again with pitchers getting hurt frequently. Victorino likely to regress etc...not say it will happen just winning 100 games is really hard to do.

No Howard for 1 month.

Oswalt last year. 9-10 3.7 ERA, 1.34whip

Utley had 398 AB's last year, is supposed to play a lot more this year.

Definitely everyone else in the division improving is a big factor but I don't consider it a lock as you guys

I really like the Nationals over, they won 81 last year. This year they have Gio, Strasburg, E-Jax, Zimmerman healthy

There must be some value in the overs for NL Central teams. Pitts, Chi, Hou are projected to be bad. STL and MIL lost their star players, driving down their projected wins. CIN over seems good. They play each other so often that they can't all lose that much.

two things: i'm a total cleveland homer, but 1) the stupid, easy-gotten number i have is like, several games above 75. and 2) 75.5 makes me totally scared that i'm not doing it right. there are 6 teams that i have off by 4+ games. i have money sitting aside specifically for mlb season props, but now i'm mad/sad/feeling dumb.

anyone else project the indians at 79.97?
