Can anyone beat the bookie? Can anyone beat the bookie?

So I bet with a local friend - about $100 - $500 a game. He bets daily through me. We use bovada lines, and it's kind of fun. He also bets online but bovada banned him for some reason. I told him he can't bet more than $1000 a game. He generally bets about 4 - 6 games a day.

We have been betting for about a year now, and it's been a lot of back and forth. He might actually be up a few $1000 on me.

He seems to get really lucky in some games and especially parlays.

So he has gotten really hot recently and I was owed about $1400, but it all changed and I owed him. I paid and now he is still winning. I don't think he has had a losing day in 2 weeks.

Should I stop betting with him or will it eventually turn around? I could owe him 2k if he hits another parlay.

It'd be trivial to beat you.

LOL!
don't sweat it it will turn around.
IMO you have to be very smart or very dumb to play parlays.

Also get more customers so with their losses you can pay the winners!

I don't want to bet with a bunch of random people because than you run the risk of people not paying - also I don't think it's legal if you do it with a bunch of people - not really sure about the law that entails to it, but i've heard it's illegal. Not trying to get into legal trouble - just want to have friendly sports bets, but they can be expensive lol.

I've done it with people in the past and usually they give up after a month, some people still owe $$$ but it's not a lot so it's not a huge deal. Most of these people that I bet with I know from playing poker - or friends at the bar.

Your friend likely knows how to bet, suggest using lines from a different book like bookmaker.

You should knwo the reason why he was banned at Bovada, probably you should do the same as Bovada did to him and send him a «cortesy» email. And i agree with Djevan regardin Parlays and given the fact he was banned form Bovada and he s winning from you since last year betting on a daily basis i think you are not dealing with a square from the evidence you showed us

he is a pretty solid better.

He took the Cleveland browns in pre season which I thought was a fish move, and they ended up winning!

He also did a soccer parlay which I got super lucky to win. Chelsea got a red card at start of game and I was amazed when I won that game when my team was +1200.

Arsenal
Chelsea
Manchester city
49ers +4.5
275 to win $960

Chelsea
Manchester city
Over in steelers/giants game
200 to win 390

Just check if Bovada was offering EV plus bets in EPL,if not well i guess the sharp assumption regarding your friend was a mistake.Parlays in English Premier League is as square as you can get

Thread title seems a bit of.

Can any one beat the bookie?

Seems like you under the assumption, that nobody can beat the bookies, so you can just offer any bookies lines to your friend and be +EV. This is obviously not true.

de-risk and take on other bettors or count the money you win (or lose) to him as a straight up entertainment cost and move on. If you do keep going set a limit with how much one person can win or lose before stopping.

In general, it takes a special kinda friendship to handle this situation. I have a buddy who has bet through me with my bookie for 4+ years and racked up a (as of now) oustanding balance of just over 25k with me. He's paid it down bit by bit and stopped betting through me (this guy is personally very wealthy), but to say it hasn't impacted what once was a good friendship would be a lie.

So keep that in mind that you can keep your friends through this but it may change overall at the end.

He'd already got pretty lucky in the Arsenal game before the Chelsea game happened.

He took falcons -1 early for sunday
and he took eagles -4 for thursday so let's see if I can win any of these

Taking Miami at home against crappy SF and then adding on Tex at home with hamels pitching and COL at home against Braves.....not exactly high risk bets for him. Can't imagine the odds on that parlay even being more than +200 or +300 max

Ya that's about right. It was like +150 but still everything he touches hits. It's really annoying. He wins like 80% of the gsmes he bets

He only has been betting small like $100 - $200 a game but he has racked up a profit of almost $4000 in 2 or 3 weeks
