Bovada Check Bovada Check

I cashed out from Bovada back in early September. They mailed me a check. However, I didn't realize it had arrived, so it sat in my apartment office for a long time (September 15th until beginning of November). I finally realized it was there, so I picked it up and deposited it via ATM. Everything appeared to be fine, as the check showed up on my online account as a deposit/credit. But then I looked at my account today and it says "pending return deposited item," and the check shows up as a withdrawal/debit.

Why isn't my check going through? I deposited a small check ($50) from bovada before and it went through fine. This check is not a huge amount (it's $550), so that is not the problem.

Is the bank just not accepting the check because it is from a Canadian bank? Is there something wrong because I waited so long to deposit it? And what will happen to my check if they are "returning" it since I deposited via ATM?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am guessing I will have to go talk to the bank, but any ideas on what I should ask or tell them?

I bank with Wells Fargo if that matters for anything.

Processor changes are extremely common and therefore checks from US sportsbooks on average have a very short shelf life. Your first step is to contact the bank and find out if it has bounced and attempt to get the check back if so. Then from there talk to Bovada to see if you should attempt deposit elsewhere or if they know it's bad already and will send you a new check. These are your first steps.

Any challenges:

Bodog Becky if you want someone to PM. She's the brand ambassador and can escalate support request to someone higher up than customer support when needed.

Also there is a Massive Bovada Payouts Thread in internet poker that will get more attention than here if needed.

I'm sure they'll get you straight but if any challenges after these channels shoot me a PM. Also when do get it sorted, update us here please. Best of luck.

bodog has wu still for a low total and ridiculous fee right?

Only if you deposited only with that method. Policy also sometimes seems to be that if you deposited with CC a while back, but your most recent deposits (at least two of them) were with that method then you can also use it for withdrawal.

* WU fees range from $40 min to $150 max. Can get up to $200 for the min and can get $2K max.

* MG fees range from $20 min to $60 max. Can get up to $200 for the min, and up to $800 for the max.

Edit: my response here is for Bovada - the Bodog sites (no US) have different payout departments not even in same country as each other (sincerely this time).

****. i couldn't tell you the last time i've deposited there, but it def wasn't via western union.

probably was just from my checking account. don't suppose they'd just go ahead and transfer back to there, huh?

Nah no chance, but if it was that long ago will come down to if you used CC in past or not. Not quite what it was in its prime, but support department over there is still fairly decent. Some books you call and get an answer from a rep and like what's the point (example BetOnline) because they tend to just guess at an answer. Later can swear until blue in face a rep told you something specific and it won't matter. Bovada isn't like that, if you call the rep you reach will within 95% accuracy tell you what you need to know.

Putting some ill history aside with bovada, I will say that I have received all of my cashouts and have had no problem depositing at the bank in person.

oh me neither. they'll put a hold on it, but never had an issue.

i do remember one time they wrote it on a canadian bank and nowhere on the check did it say 'dollars'. hahaha, manager came out asking where i got it, do i know who sent it to me? 'yes, online', 'oh, like ebay or something?' 'yeah something like that'.

**** said "five hundred and no 00/xx" and didn't say dollars. LOL

yeah that's fun.

more fun than sweating out a game, winning, and then realizing you clicked the wrong button and were rooting for the wrong side the whole time.

I called Bovada today to see if they could tell me if the check account had closed and a new check needed to be issued. They told me I needed to get the check from the bank to see what the reason was for it not being accepted. Then, if the bank stamped it with a reason (NSF, etc), I have to email the check to Bovada.

I called the bank today, but they were closed. So I will try and get in touch with them tomorrow.

Thanks, keep us posted. This can be nightmare to fix with some books (just in the support hassles and timing) but Bovada is generally a bit better about it and has plenty of reps around, hopefully won't be too much hassle.

I went to the bank today. Because I deposited via ATM, the bank did not have the check. Apparently the banks do not service the ATMs anymore. However, she was able to look it up and tell me that it was being returned to me by mail, so it may already be in my mail box. She said since it was being returned, that meant that the check was no good.

So I guess the account was closed because of the amount of time I waited to deposite the check. The customer service rep at Bovada acted like it wouldn't be a big deal if I emailed them a picture of the check...I hope he was being candid and knows what he is talking about.
