and yet several people in the thread specifically picked KC in their not making the playoffs lists..... so yea, apparently it is a good tip.

booked the bet w 16 diff ppl this year up from 13 last year, hopefully no more than 2 stiff me like last year.

I've done 7 teams at even odds for several years except for 2 guys that do 6 teams and give me 1.5-1.

here's the breakdown of the teams in case anyone is interested:

browns: 16
bears: 15
niners: 14
rams: 10
phins: 9
titans: 7
chargers: 7
bucs: 6
lions: 5
eagles: 4
falcons: 4
cowboys: 2
raiders: 1
vikes: 1
saints: 1

thoughts?

How do you find so many people to make these bets with? I have only two such bets and they're not for significant amounts of cash. The fact that you got some people to pick 7 teams and others to lay you odds while picking 6 is absurd. Kudos to you.

As for the actual teams they picked....I think it doesn't really matter because the bet is +EV regardless of who they choose.

ppl are bad at math, like to gambol and dont care at all on the odds of what they think is an an easy bet. I actually had to turn down some action and limit some ppl cuz it was getting outta hand this year so in the future I'll pass em off if u want. I've also been stiffed by 3-4 ppl over the years.

so far it aint looking so good but I'm sure itll shape up barring a:

Pats-Steelers-Ravens-Colts-Broncos-Chiefs
Giants-Skins-Packers-Panthers-Hawks-Cards
playoffs...

in which case FML.

I made this bet with one of our clerks in the ER three years ago for $20, then double or nothing and double or nothing again. This year I felt bad, so I let him go double or nothing again with me picking. I took SF, Cleve, NO, Chi, SD and J'ville. At least this week he's going to win one - Saints are playing the Chargers.

I feel vaguely bad about this.

I wonder how much EV this bet will lose over the years as teams finally discover the value of tanking (Browns seem to be the only ones fully committed this year).
