Thought it's about time we get a thread started for the 2014 season!

0-0
Parlays 0-0

Ole Miss -10

Boise St coming in to the Georgia Dome for a neutral site game that might as well be a home game for Miss with 1st year head coach.

Penn St. PK

This game is being played in Dublin Ireland, Penn St. has the 4th best recruiting class this year and 1st year head coach James Franklin, who in 3 years finished 24-15 at Vanderbilt. If he can take Vanderbilt and turn them into a high scoring winning team I think he'll help to recoup the Penn St. name. I expect UCF to play some solid ball this year but think they are outmatched in this one starting a new year without Blake Bortles.

Washington -15

Hawaii struggles the last few years on top of Chris Peterson taking over at Washington full of talent! I think this line has great value and would take it up to -17

LV -3.5 seems a bit high. Lost the best O and D-players in the first round, and another guy went high.

Miami's O should be pretty explosive this year, assuming the transfer QB can get it done, Duke is a legit beast, great WR corps added Stacy Coley, and the D has upgraded with some solid DT transfers and the DBs a year older and better.

If they have to start a frosh QB, then no.

Ga. Southern (+22.5) vs. NC State seems quite nice IMO

Is anyone betting season win totals? Am I crazy to think Marshall o10.5 -260 is still a good bet? That might be the easiest schedule in NCAA history.

Got a question for you guys. Is it against the US laws to create a website and sell your picks to people?

Do you know which state they live in? I wonder if it's legal in every state.

I will grade all plays against Bookmaker and/or Pinnacle lines. All plays will be 1 unit.

These are from Pinnacle. You can probably shop for better lines.

2953 Arizona RSW over 7 +113
3033 Indiana RSW over 5.5 +113
3065 Nevada RSW over 6 +101
3067 N Carolina RSW over 8.5 +128

Just a few examples.

Most are shady and outright scams, some are given the air of legitimacy(FO is all over ESPN, the CEO of Pregame calls into Cowherd's radio show, and the "Sportsboss" was featured at MIT's Sloan Sports and Analytics Conference); but, with the exception of RAS, they are all ****ing morons who don't understand #math

I don't see how it could possibly be illegal in any state.

If it were illegal, how could you sell something like ESPN Magazine or Sports Illustrated where "experts" list their picks for various games?

If you're worried about getting sued, just put a disclaimer at the bottom of your website saying that all of your picks are for entertainment purposes only, and that you're not liable for anybody who chooses to place bets on them.

(By the way, above post is for entertainment purposes only and should not be construed as actual legal advice. Because hell if I know what I'm talking about anyway. )

Nick Marshall to win the Heisman +3500
5dimes

Auburn worked mainly on their passing game in the offseason. Marshall has added muscle to his frame and by all accounts, and evidenced in the spring game, he is more athletic, more accurate, harder to tackle, and has better footwork and mechanics. He has a bigger stage than anyone to perform on (toughest schedule in the country, finishing @UGA, @Bama) and the team around him to make it happen. Auburn added one of the best receivers in the country in Duke Williams (top overall JUCO) and returns the rest of the receiving corps, including Sammy Coates.

I'm not going to take the time to look up the best available lines online. Here are the bets I've hammered, mainly B&M books, at Pinny. Putting this for my record keeping. After all, I'm so good it will still crush and pwn anything Sharky ever did.

Florida u7.5 +111 risk 3u
LSU u9 +105 risk 6u
Penn St u7.5 +102 risk 3u
NW u7.5 -149 risk 4u
USC u8.5 +175 risk 4u
Washington u9 -109 risk 6u
Louisville u7.5 +227 risk 3u
Virginia o3.5 -102 risk 6u
K St u7.5 +124 risk 5u
Ok St u7.5 -113 risk 3u
Boise St u10 -150 risk 6u
UNLV o4.5 +146 risk 4u
Notre Dame u7.5 -115 risk 2u

For the record, my average dollar of what I actually got down is worse on UNLV (my position is +135) and USC (+162.5). Everything else, I got better, and most significantly so if this bothers some of you for record keeping. It was pleasantly refreshing that most Vegas B&M books would take 2k on these at a time. A couple took 3k. A few took 1k. A few years back, these would only be $500 to $1000 at a time. Of course, everywhere would move it 10c to 15c after a bet.

I put down $500 on A&M at even odds after that went up 7-0. I'm really liking there offense right now. If it wasn't for the two big play they gave up, they would be woopin some gamecock butt right now.

I'm only betting one game this weekend after spending the entire week moving.

Utah State @ TN (-6) Sunday 7:00e

As a TN fanatic and close follower of the SEC week in, week out, TN covers on Sunday, my prediction is 31-20.

USU does have Chuck Keaton at QB who is touting his own Heisman campaign. Yeah ok. This game has the same pre-season talk as TN's opener in 2013 against Petrino's WKU Hilltoppers. They had a couple NFL draft picks, a coach who apparently works miracles, and an "average SEC team" who will be unprepared for one of the presumed better mid majors of this season.

And then reality hits. TN does replace lines on both sides, but it's important to know they are merely replacing experience, not talent or production. Last year's squad was barely a positive despite the senior most O&D lines TN has had in a decade.

TN has 20+ pound average advantage on both sides, they do return senior QB Justin Worley who was getting better before his injury, SEC All Americans Marquez North (WR) and Cam Sutton (DB), along with vaunted additions in #2 Juco player WR- Von Pearson and #4 RB Jalen Hurd.

TN will be stronger, faster, and will have cut the remains of the Dooley/Kiffin disaster.

Butch Jones and his staff (returned 100%) are on a roll after a top 5 recruiting class and although they will do well to go 6-6, week 1 with months to prepare against USU, at home, on Sunday prime time, in front of 102,000 won't be an issue.

Take the Vols at -6.
