2012 NFL survivor pools?

Hey All,
I am looking to enter some large field (100+) survivor pools this upcoming season. I played in one last season and am looking for a few others. Larger the field the better! Feel free to PM or post details.

Thanks

Re: 2012 NFL survivor pools?

I've been meaning to post about this...

I extended an offer here on 2+2 last year to play in ours, and will do so again this year.

Zathras & Wubba's King of the Hill is a $10 NFL survivor pool in its 15th year. I expect we'll hit around 1600 entries this year. All online at our custom site www.zathras.com.

However we do allow repeat picks in this pool, which I know is a turnoff for some players.

This year we've also completely overhauled our site to allow others to host their survivor pools using our system (free- no charge to the pool or players).
If you run a pool and want to use our site just let me know and I'll help you get it set up. We have about 2 dozen configuration options.

We also are offering a free pool this year- no entry fee, limit one entry per person, no repeat teams, with a $100 cash prize to the winner and a $100 bonus prize if you recruited the winning player. Anyone is welcome to enter that as well. I have no idea how many players we'll get in that one- probably a few hundred.

I've also thought there may be interest in a private 2+2 survivor pool, for poker chips, cash, or just for fun. We can host it and set it up with any options the group wants to use.

If anyone wants to head it up that would be great- if I'm willing to do it if there's interest but no one wants to manage it.

Z

Allowing repeat picks takes all the strategy out of the pool. "Terrible, take a lap."

Yes, there is obviously no strategy related to saving teams for upcoming weeks, and therefore does make it a much easier pool. In fact we had a 7 way tie thru the Superbowl last year out of 1488 entries, so we have started to think about making it tougher.

Our software wasn't designed to handle the repeat logic until we overhauled it this year, so we may poll our players to see if they'd like us to go that route next year.

But definitely anyone hosting their pool at Zathras & Wubba's can utilize the no repeat option.

Yeah, I have no idea why 1,500 people would ever want to play in a pool set up like that. It actually takes almost 100% of the strategy (and fun) out of it.

We actually had only about 450 people last year. We allow people to buy multiple entries which got us to 1488 total entries.
