I've decided to start keeping a record, publishing my picks for discussion, and all the other things that are recommended in this forum to make you a "better bettor". So for 6/5/2012..

Betting on Bailey and his gaudy 6-0/1.79 against Pitt. Besides, can it ever be bad to bet against the Pirates?

Milwaukee -1.5 @ +145
Betting on Gallardo and his own 4-1/2.74 against Chicago, and a little against Dempster. I'm a non-believer in Dempster, and Chicago. They can't score.

I did a more thorough writeup on my blog (search my location) - yeah, it's a little blog-pimpin, but it's by no means a sports-gambling blog. It's more like a journal, it covers a huge topic range.

This is my first foray into posting picks, and I'd love feedback/convo about thought process. I love baseball but don't know a whole lot about sports betting. For example, the moneyline for both my picks was -150 and -153 respectively - by giving up 1.5 runs I went to two +145s. What are the, like, "leverage points" where you bet one but not the other? Do you bet both? Is it a matter of what the distance is between?
