Re: 2012 College FB Week 3

Penn St lost their best WR this week too. As bad as Navy is Penn St has showed nothing so far this season. Wouldnt touch that game either way.

Other games I like
Arkansas St +24
Virginia +9.5
Louisville -3
Rice +21
Ole Miss +10

They are definitely the real deal this year. Their roster is full of top talent, physical as hell. Generally they are an overrated team. What put them slightly under the radar this year was the inordinate amount of player injuries last year, they were constantly shuffling players on a young team to compensate for multiple injuries. At times this made them look incompetent last year, but talent wise they were easily the best in the ACC, just too much adversity for a young team to overcome.

They are returning 9 players on Off, 9 on D, from a team was at times dominant last year when injuries weren't disrupting their rotations (won 5 str8games, all vs ACC, ave score 35.4-11.6 ). Huge upside with this team if they can stay anywhere near healthy. They have already lost a powerful DE from last year.

Their last two games were an indication of what they could do as well, defeating Florida at FLA 21-7, domiant fast D and only allowing 14 beating ND in a bowl game. The oddsmakers have become aware of all the sharp money flowing in on FSU preseason, soo I am not sure how much value they will have as the season progresses. Of course, my friend Meatwad was writing about how FSU had amazing value to win the ACC in June at SBR.

Re: 2012 College FB Week 3

Last week, my program went 0-3 somehow. Still 2-3 for the year.

This weeks picks are:
Stanford +9 vs. USC
Colo State +11 vs. San Jose State
Florida +4 vs. Tenn

Re: 2012 College FB Week 3

Texas A&M -12 @ SMU
Yes, A&M has a redshirt freshman at QB, but he looked good in the first half last week against FLA. Their new coach from Houston also has no problem letting his team put points on the board. Last year his team scored 40+ points 9 times (twice scoring 73).

SMU won a lopsided score wise game last week 52-0, but the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks had over 500 yds of offense (466 passing) against SMU's defense and managed to score 0 points. Mainly because they turned it over 7 times, 3 of which were returned for TD's.

I don't see A&M turning it over for easy scores and could see this game getting out of hand for SMU early. + Baylor spanked them in their 1st game minus RGIII and company.

Arkansas +21 vs. Alabama
Yes I am stoned. Yes I know their new coach is a tool. Yes I know they took the 2nd largest dive out of the top 25 in history after losing last week. But, there is still talent on this team, and I think the players will man up after last weeks embarrassment. Had they won, I think this line would be at least half of what you are getting, so I think there is value here.

Re: 2012 College FB Week 3

I am a little leary of VT, their D is as strong as they ever had according to coordinator Bud Foster with 9 D starters returning. They are clearly better on this side of the ball as evidenced from their first 2 games. Their offense only has 3 or 4 returners QB, FB and WR, and it showed against G tech where I thought they were outplayed esepecitally on O.

I think people our overresponding to Pitts loss to Cincy on TV. While they did look bad, this is not an untalented walkover team as they appreared. Graham is legitimate all Big East RB good for 100+yds/game, QB Sunseri is very experienced, although his performance was horrendous, I would look for him to bounce back as a 3rd year starter.

Pitt played Cincy much closer than the scored indicated, untimely turnovers hurt alot, (415 vs 464 total yards). Pitt also has several potential Future NFL'ers and all big east players on Def, S and DE. They are a sturggling team with good rest, coming back to play at home.

I am not sold on V Tech's O to give this many points on the road vs Pitt their first time traveling this year with a mostly new O unit. I popped the openers on Pitt at +11.5 and +11, but think you can shop around if you like V Tech -10, -10.5 now despite a huge public push on the Hokies. Pitt is one of my 10-12 plays on NCAAF this week.

I don't think Va Tech needs to score that much though. I think they can score 24-28 and still cover 10.5

Pitt definitely was way closer to Cincy than the score indicated. They should have only lost that by 14 or so.

It is quite possible. But Pitt offense is definitely not as bad as they looked vs Cincy. Remember in that game they squandered great field position and scoring opportunities, at halftime they left the ball on the goal line and I believe 1 possibly 2 turnovers deep in Cincy territory.

The total yardage was 400+ for Pitt vs 450 ish for Cincy. Graham, looked fully recovered from injury in that game lots of touches and yards, making large runs 8-9 yds everytime he touched the ball late in the game He is 1st team big east caliber projected to go in 2nd round. The QB is very experienced, yet horrible at times, but capable, prefers home field, and I think he bounces back.

V tech D is legitimately scary. They are still a team who has built a reputation, a dynasty even, playing softer schedules and consistently beating bad teams.

It may be a blowout, but I just think it should be in the -6 range and people are overreacting to a televised game, where they actually played better than the score indicated. Maybe they continue making the worst plays at the worst possible times, but they have talent and can hang if they bring their A game at home. Also a test for all the new O players on V tech, first road game of the year.

Re: 2012 College FB Week 3

I bet on sports like three or four times a year because I can appreciate that I am not sharper than the books/market. I look at lines generally out of curiosity and I won't be here distending myself if I win, but I have Rice +21 for денежные тузы.

You should sharpen your handicapping blade and cut through the books/market like a ninja on a killing spree.

Why did you decide to make your rare bet on the Rice Owls?

It's not like the line is 3 touchdowns, it's 10.5 against a team that got beat by 14 at home to Youngstown State, an FCS team. They were down by 18 to Youngstown State in the 4th quarter and were down by 31 to Cincy until they scored a TD with under a minute left. Pitt just doesn't look very good this year. It's not like I think that Va Tech is some crazy juggernaut or anything I just think their defense will probably keep Pitt at 10 or under and then the offense can just have a decent game and they'll still cover.
